Daniel Bryan tweeted on Monday that he'll announce his retirement on this week's episode of WWE Raw in Seattle, WA due to "medical reasons." His tweet is below:
">February 8, 2016
I spoke with a source close to Bryan last week and was told that Bryan wanted to come back to WWE but only if he could wrestle. Vince McMahon wanted him back for the Road to Wrestlemania 32 regardless and had reached out to him about appearing on Raw. We originally wrote about that last week here on WNW Premium and recapped it on the free site.
I do not know what further development happened to trigger this announcement. Daniel Bryan has made it clear he's been independently cleared to compete by a neurologist but WWE's medical director, Dr. Joseph Maroon, has not cleared him to compete. Bryan hasn't competed for WWE since April when he was sent home from the company's post-Wrestlemania 31 tour of Europe due to concussion symptoms.
Regardless of what is going on, the segment on Raw will be of particular interest.
