As CJ reported here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com, WWE announced on Monday they’re bringing back the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view exclusively on the WWE Network on May 31, 2015.
The show will emanate from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, which was originally scheduled to be a live event. WWE has another live event scheduled for that day in Greenville, South Carolina, however, it is an afternoon show at 1 PM EDT. Because of the early start time, it would be possible for a talent to work both shows.
As for WWE bringing back Elimination Chamber, it’s all about adding more live content to the WWE Network. WWE is trying to give paid subscribers the most bang for their buck and entice free signups to convert to paid subscribers.
The reason WWE scrapped Elimination Chamber in favor of Fastlane is because they had trouble finding venues that could accommodate the large Elimination Chamber structure. They’ll be able to hang it in Corpus Christi, which is why that venue was selected.
Regarding matches, the WWE Tag Team Championships and the newly vacant Intercontinental Championship will be defended in the structure. Further, John Cena will be in action and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.
