President-elect and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump selected Wilbur Ross Jr., a billionaire investor and turnaround specialist, as his commerce secretary. The selection was announced during a joint interview on CNBC. NPR has complete details at this link.

The reason this is significant here on Wrestling News World is that Linda McMahon, a heavy financial supporter to getting Donald Trump elected, had been rumored to be in the running for the position of commerce secretary.

In addition to helping fund a pro-Donald Trump SuperPac, Linda McMahon was at Donald Trump's victory party in New York. She tweeted this on election night:

While McMahon was passed over for the position of commerce secretary, she's still expected to be a part of the Trump administration. She was scheduled to meet with Trump on Wednesday in New York City.
