Hulk Hogan won big on Friday as the jury awarded him a $115 million judgment in his lawsuit against Gawker for publishing his sex tape with Heather Clem.
Hogan sued for $100 million but the jury bumped it up to $115 million — $55 million for economic injures and $60 million for emotional distress. He could get even more with punitive damages. Hogan argued he didn’t know he was being recorded when he had sex with the now ex-wife of his best friend Bubba The Love Sponge at their Florida home in 2007.
Gawker published a one minute and 50 seconds clip of the video without Hogan’s permission. He claimed it violated his privacy.
