Hulk Hogan Awarded $25 Million More In Punitive Damages

The Florida Supreme Court awarded Hulk Hogan $25 million in punitive damages in his lawsuit against Gawker on Monday. TMZbroke it down, noting Gawker Media owes $15 million, owner Nick Denton owes $10 million and A.J. Daulerio, who posted the tape, must pay $100,000.

This brings the grand total to $140 million after the court awarded Hogan $115 million in compensatory damages on Friday.

While $140 million is a lot of cash, the punitive damages could have been much more with some estimating it could have been hundreds of millions of dollars.

All of this stems from Gawker posting a one minute 50 second clip of a sex tape with Hogan and the then-wife of his former best friend Bubba the Love Sponge, Heather Clem, that was made several years ago.
