Jim Ross was a guest on Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to discuss a number of thins but namely talked about the number of WWE dates he has on his contract and his current status with NJPW.
JR said he would be working 40 dates a year for WWE. Regarding New Japan, he said:
“It’s quite simple. I never worked for New Japan. I don’t work for New Japan. I don’t get paid by New Japan. I do voiceovers of their matches that they record in Japan that AXS TV edits, and airs on their network. And [AXS] pay me for my services.”
JR said he also wasn't sure if WWE would allow him to work dates outside the company going forward but said that WWE didn't have any issue with him continuing his podcast.
