John Cena will make his highly-anticipated return to WWE next week, appearing first at the Smackdown live event on Monday from Madison Square Garden in New York City. He’ll return to television the following night on next week’s episode of Smackdown Live.
Cena tweeted the following:
John has been away from WWE since October filming the second season of his reality competition American Grit to air on FOX. At this point he’s considered a part-time WWE Superstar and will continue to work a reduced schedule, with another big movie role coming up.
One thing we’ve highlighted on a number of occasions here at Wrestling News World is while Cena is one of the most loyal WWE Superstars of all-time, he has felt that his loyalty is taken for granted. Especially when guys are able to return for big money when they don’t have interest in the mainstream. John is seen as one of the hottest celebrities in all of professional wrestling yet expected to work significantly more dates under a less lucrative contract.
