John Cena's Injury, Controversial Show On WWE Network, Off-Air Smackdown

- For those that missed it earlier, John Cena will return to Monday Night Raw next week from Los Angeles and has been announced in a non-title match against Randy Orton. Cena was held off of last Sunday's WWE live event in Kansas City, Missouri due to a eye injury he suffered Saturday night in Orlando, Florida. Cena was unable to go on Sunday because the swelling was so bad it obstructed his vision. He traveled to Raw and appeared off-camera but was not scripted on the broadcast due to the injury.

- There is some surprise over WWF Over the Edge 1999being included on the WWE Network. This is the show from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri where Owen Hart tragically died after he fell from the rafters when a planned spot where he was to descend into the ring went horribly wrong. I would expect heavy edits as the show was never released commercially on VHS or DVD and Vince McMahon received a lot of criticism for continuing the show after Owen had died.

- Alexander Rusev beat Tyson Kidd in a dark match prior to this week's Smackdown taping. After the taping concluded, Daniel Bryan beat Bray Wyatt via disqualification after interference from the Wyatt Family. The Usos made the save to end the show. I have my comprehensive Smackdown notes online at this link.
