There is not a lot of optimism backstage regarding the future of Daniel Bryan. The feeling from some of the wrestlers is that Bryan should take as much time as needs to get healthy — even if it’s a situation like Shawn Michaels where he goes away for a year or two.
Bryan is seen as someone that will work through injuries so him not being medically cleared to compete has obviously ignited concerns about his future.
We’ll be clear we do not have the specifics on his most recent injury other than an MRI on his shoulder a couple of weeks did not clear him to compete. Once the results of that MRI were known, WWE made the decision to bring him to TV to have him vacate the Intercontinental Championship, the second time he’s had to vacate a major title in what was essentially a year time period.
Daniel Bryan has noted that he’s already doing physical therapy and working hard to get back.
A new Intercontinental Champion is scheduled to be crowned at WWE Elimination Chamber in a couple of weeks.
