Welcome to the WWE Night of Champions Kickoff!

Renee Young welcomes us to the show outside the Toyota Center, alongside Booker T, Corey Graves & Byron Saxton. Booker says it's a big night for every champion tonight. Renee then sends it to Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge.

Tom invites us to use #WWENOC to join the conversation on social media. The New Day will be joining him later in the Kickoff for a Q&A. Use #SaveTheTables to send in your questions.

Back at the panel, Renee previews the card. Renee asks how Seth can prepare for two matches in one night. Booker says his back is up against the wall tonight, but he has a chance to make history. Corey thinks Seth has already asserted himself as "the man," but it will be undeniable if he does it tonight.

Backstage, Eden Stiles welcomes Sheamus. Eden asks Sheamus about his "groundbreaking news." Sheamus says he's made a few friends and a lot of enemies in WWE. His few friends have looked out for him, because they know who the future world champion is. His big news is that Seth will be defending his titles in back to back matches, first against John Cena and then against Sting. Sheamus doesn't think that if he makes it through, he'll be able to fight off Sheamus afterward. And if Sting wins, what a moment that would be...for him to cash in his contract and win. No matter who wins tonight, Sheamus says history will be made.

Back at the panel, Booker says he does believe Seth has it in him to get through two matches back-to-back. Corey notes that Seth also has Sheamus to worry about.

A montage of great Intercontinental Champions airs. Backstage, Eden Stiles welcomes Kevin Owens. Eden notes the great lineage of the Intercontinental Champions, and asks Kevin what it would mean to join such a prestigious list. Kevin says it's quite a list, but tonight is not about any of those greats. It's about the prize, the Intercontinental Championship. That championship means more money and a better life for him and his family, and tonight, he's going to take it. Ryback will be going back to self-help books to cope with the fact that Kevin Owens is the new Intercontinental Champion.

Back at the panel, Renee asks if Kevin Owens is fit to be the Intercontinental Champion. Booker says he can't believe some of the things Kevin can do in that ring. He's been working for over 15 years, and the clock is ticking. It's time to make a statement tonight. Byron says the championship is Ryback's lifeblood. He'll fight like his career is on the line tonight. Corey says Ryback's fighting for a home gym, but Kevin's fighting for his family. Booker picks Kevin to win, as does Corey. Byron picks Ryback.

The conversation shifts to the Divas Championship Match. Renee asks if Nikki Bella will go down as the greatest Divas Champion of all time. Booker says she's been great, but with Divas like Trish Stratus, she has big shoes to fill. Corey notes that, four years ago, Charlotte hadn't thought she could even make it in WWE, and now she's on the cusp of joining that lineage. Charlotte's been working hard, and he thinks Charlotte will walk out a champion tonight.

Back from commercial, the panel is playing with a Mattel Create-A-Superstar Ring, with a life-size replica behind them. The conversation shifts to Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler, as a recap of the recent drama on Raw airs. Corey says Dolph needs to leave Rusev & Summer Rae alone. Booker says that Dolph is a player, and Byron notes that Rusev is clearly still obsessed with Lana. Corey hopes Rusev puts a stop to this once and for all tonight, and he thinks he'll win tonight. Booker wants to see the old Rusev back tonight.

The conversation shifts to the WWE Tag Team Championship match between The New Day and The Dudley Boyz. This could be The Dudleyz' 10th tag title win tonight. The New Day has won over Corey with the power of positivity. Booker says Xavier Woods will have the trombone with him tonight to distract The Dudleyz. Renee reminds us to use #SaveTheTables to send in questions for The New Day.

At the Social Media Lounge, we see The New Day making fun of Tom Phillips' tie.

At ringside, Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler & JBL welcome us to the Kickoff. Michael Cole recaps the feud between Neville and Stardust. The heels make their way to the ring first. The Lucha Dragons are out next, followed by Neville.

Neville & The Lucha Dragons vs. Stardust & The Ascension

Konnor and Sin Cara start out in the ring. Konnor works Sin Cara into the corner, but he attempts a sunset flip to counter. Konnor stops him and whips him into another corner. He charges and Sin Cara gets a foot up. Sin Cara gets to the second rope and lands a corkscrew arm drag, followed by a springboard cross body. Kalisto gets the tag and Sin Cara tosses Kalisto onto a downed Konnor for a near-fall. Konnor takes control and tags in Stardust. Konnor holds Kalisto in a double chicken wing and Stardust lands a punch to the abdomen. Stardust lands a scoop slam and stomps onto Kalisto. "Cody" chants break out as Viktor is tagged in. Konnor tags in and continues pummeling Kalisto. Stardust tags back in and lands another punch to the abdomen. Kalisto backs up into the ropes and Stardust charges into a back elbow. Kalisto lands a hurricanrana followed by another. Stardust backs away as all four tag partners back up the legal man of their team. The Ascension go for clotheslines but The Lucha Dragons duck and land dropkicks, sending them out of the ring. Neville sends Stardust out of the ring with a clothesline as well. Neville lands an asai moonsault while both Lucha Dragons land somersault planchas on the heels.

Back in the ring, Kalisto has an armbar applied on Stardust. Stardust gets to his feet and takes control in his corner. Kalisto fights out momentarily, but Viktor is able to get a blind tag from Stardust. Kalisto pushes Stardust into another corner. Stardust rolls out of the ring as Viktor takes control with a big shoulder block. Viktor tags in Konnor, who Viktor whips into Kalisto in the corner. Konnor throws Kalisto into Viktor, who lands a kick for a two-count. Konnor lands a scoop slam before tagging in Stardust. Stardust stomps on Kalisto's back repeatedly before applying a hammerlock. Kalisto gets to his feet with a snap mare, but Stardust regains control with a clothesline. Konnor tags in and knocks Sin Cara off the apron. Viktor tags in and attempts a powerbomb from the second rope, but Kalisto reverses it into a super hurricanrana. Both men are down as Neville tries to will Kalisto to the corner. Both men gets tags as Neville clears Konnor off the apron. Neville and Stardust are legal as Neville goes to the apron. He attempts a springboard dropkick, hitting Viktor, who had just entered the ring. Neville then ducks a clothesline from Stardust, lands a few kicks to his abdomen and the side of his head. Stardust reels in the corner as Neville charges and lands two flying forearms and a kick to the head, which puts Stardust on the mat. Neville climbs to the second rope and hits a corkscrew moonsault, but Konnor breaks up the pin. Konnor clears Kalisto from the ring and charges at Sin Cara on the apron, but Sin Cara counters with a kick to the head. Sin Cara sits on the top rope and drags Konnor over to the floor while hanging on. Sin Cara then runs and hits a suicide dive on Konnor. Neville and Stardust remain in the ring as Stardust ducks a high kick and lands a Side Effect for a two-count. Neville ducks an attempted Beautiful Disaster and lands a superkick, which puts Stardust in position for The Red Arrow. He climbs the top rope, but Viktor charges at Neville, who wards him off with a kick to the face. Stardust pushes VIktor into Neville, who gets knocked off the turnbuckle. Stardust then lands The Queen's Crossbow for the win.

Winner: Stardust & The Ascension

Stardust & The Ascension celebrate as Neville and The Lucha Dragons walk up the ramp.

At the Social Media Lounge, Tom Phillips welcomes The New Day, who take Tom's tablet and tell him to leave. Big E reads the first question in a nerdy voice: "If The New Day is victorious, would you do a live concert with your trombone?" Xavier asks if they're going to pay, and also takes issue with the "if" in the question. The next question asks what they plan on saving after they successfully save the tables. Xavier says they already save the world by saving the tables, what else is there to do? The last question asks which of them is going through a table tonight. Kofi says there's no such thing as a stupid question, but this guy is trying. Tom comes back into the shot and thanks them for coming. The New Day starts chanting "Save The Tables" over Tom.

Back at the panel, the conversation moves to the 6-man tag match between The Wyatt Family and Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and a mystery partner. Renee asks who the mystery partner will be. Corey says he guesses it's someone they have history with, perhaps someone for NXT. If he had to pick, he'd pick Samoa Joe. Byron says Roman & Dean have added some mystique of their own to attempt to defeat the mysterious force of The Wyatt Family.

The conversation then shifts to Seth Rollins' back-to-back title matches. Booker says it'll be a good night for us fans. Byron says Seth is going to make history by facing Sting and John Cena, but not by beating both of them. Booker says we haven't scratched the surface as to how good Seth is. He's the man, and he has a chance to shut up the doubters tonight. Renee notes that Sheamus will be paying close attention tonight. Renee thanks us for watching as the Kickoff goes off the air.
