WWE is facing major issues with this week’s television tapings as the northeast faces a historic blizzard.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw is scheduled to emanate from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The blizzard warning goes into effect on Monday at 7 PM until Wednesday at 1 AM. As we noted in our Raw preview, heavy snowfall is forecasted.
The latest update from the XL Center was on Sunday evening and they stated Raw would take place as scheduled:
Connecticut Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy was asked about the taping and didn’t provide an update, but simply stated that public safety topped the importance of wrestling to the world economy.
He also declared a travel ban as of 9 PM EST on Monday night, which casts doubt as to whether or not WWE will be able to tape Raw.
This week’s Smackdown taping is scheduled to take place from the TD Garden in Boston, MA. At press time (11:48 AM 1/26/15) the show was still scheduled but no new update was available.
Like Hartford, Boston has a blizzard warning going into effect on Monday at 7 PM EST and lasting until Wednesday at 1 AM. Heavy snowfall is expected.
