Jon Jones & Brock Lesnar

We wrote earlier about Brock Lesnar not having to forfeit any of his $2.5 million purse from his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200 despite two failed drug tests. The same place that report originated, MMAFighting.com, is reporting that Jon Jones, who failed a drug test before UFC 200, is also not facing any kind of fine from the UFC, just a commission fine.

Lesnar could opt to return to WWE and never fight again and not pay a fine to the Nevada Athletic Commission for the failures. However, if he chose to do that, the commission could take legal action against him.

Jones tested positive for clomiphene and Letrozole (an aromatase inhibitor) prior to UFC 200 and was pulled from his scheduled fight against Daniel Cormier. Lesnar’s failures weren’t learned of until after the pay-per-view but both were positive for clomiphene. Clomiphene is an anti-estrogen that can be used to naturally stimulate testosterone production. It can also be used by someone that is cycling off anabolic steroids. Clomiphene is prescribed clinically to stimulate female ovulation and to treat male virility.
