Randy Orton will not compete at tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view as he has not been medically cleared. The story was first tweeted out by a staff reporter for the ProWrestlingSheet.com website:
">September 11, 2016
The injury stems from the beatdown Orton suffered during the match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, as Orton has not competed since. While the exact injury that’s keeping Orton off tonight’s card is unknown, it’s believed to be concussion related. This was a big concern prior to Orton facing Lesnar at SummerSlam, in that he was too big of an injury risk to handle Brock’s stiff style. Those concerns were certainly realized, especially with the way that match ended.
