Ricardo Rodriguez announced via his Facebook page that he is calling it quits. "So I have decided to hang up the boots and just train/teach. I'm better at that, anyways, plus real life is getting in the way," he posted.

You may remember Rodriguez when he served as Alberto El Patron's (then known as Del Rio) personal ring announcer from 2010 until about 2013 when he made the switch in an ill-fated move to be paired up with Rob Van Dam.

After that, he began wrestling under a mask as El Local and even formed short-lived tag teams with Kalisto and Tyson Kidd. He then became one of the commentators for the Spanish announce team before finally departing with the company in 2014.

Since then, Ricardo had done some independent work including a brief run in AAA alongside his old running buddy, Alberto, and has also become a trainer for Continental Wrestling Entertainment.

We wish him the very best in the future.
