The plan as of 1 PM ET is for Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte in a Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship to close tonight’s pay-per-view, Wrestling News World is able to exclusively confirm. Our source notes the decision really shows the stroke of Triple H as Vince McMahon did not want the bout to close the pay-per-view.
It’s been a debate ever since Mick Foley posted an out-of-character status on Facebook that indicated the first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match would main event this year’s show. He later edited it to claim he had no knowledge of which match would go last and it’s the fan’s who ultimately determine a show's main event.
Charlotte vs. Banks is the first ever women's Hell in a Cell match in WWE and is something many of our readers have been requesting over the last couple of years. There are those within WWE that feel this bout poses a high injury risk, the same people that felt it was a horrible idea for Randy Orton to return from injury in a match against Brock Lesnar (remember, Orton did indeed get injured in that match).
We also heard there are plans for this match to include color in some fashion and the fact that we’ve heard about it doesn’t exactly mean things are being kept quiet. Make plans to join us here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com for our WWE Hell in a Cell “Open Thread” beginning at 8 PM ET with Kickoff coverage preceding it.
