Seth Rollins tore the MCL in his right knee at the end of last week's episode of WWE Raw, the company announced through Michael Cole on tonight's live broadcast.
Cole didn't elaborate on the grade of the tear or provide a definitive timeline for his return. He just stated that Rollins's participation at Wrestlemania 33 was in serious doubt.
Given the different degrees of MCL tears, it's hard to predict a timeline but this is the injury WWE had feared since it happened last week in the angle with Samoa Joe. The company has been in contingency mode for much of the past week in trying to come up with plans to replace Rollins vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania 33.
