Smackdown Live Coverage & Results (10/30/18)

Good evening and Happy Rusev Day wrestling world! Tonight is the final showdown before Crown Jewel. Who will gain momentum heading into Saudi Arabia? Stay tuned for an action-packed night.


In-Ring Segment

Styles wants to get on the mic and say something. Styles wants to say it to Daniel Bryan’s face. Bryan joins Styles. Styles apologizes to Bryan for the Pelee kick last week. Bryan says there is no need. Bryan says when he looks at Styles he doesn’t see a friend, he only sees the WWE Championship. The only thing Bryan only cares about is the WWE Title. Styles says that’s good to know but Bryan didn’t let him finish.

That Pelee kick from last week wasn’t an accident, he meant to do it. Styles looks forward to delivering again at Crown Jewel. Bryan basically agrees. Vintage Bryan says he wants to punch Styles in the face. Styles dared him. Styles wants to defend the title right here, right now. Shane McMahon comes out on the stage and makes it official.

WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs Daniel Bryan

Bryan starts off with the control of Styles. He then steps on Styles’ hand. Bryan smiles at him. Styles drops Bryan to the floor. Styles almost launches Bryan over the top rope but Bryan lands on the apron. They pushed each other. Bryan sends Styles into the corner shoulder first followed by the Yes! kicks. Bryan goes at Styles’ arm. Styles chops Bryan towards the corner. Bryan backflips over Styles and hits the ropes. Styles catches Bryan off guard with a dropkick. He misses a flying forearm to the outside. Followed by a suicide dive by Bryan. Bryan appears to be injured, holding his knee.

Out of the break, Bryan is laying in the Yes kicks. Styles counters Bryan’s last kick with the dragon screw. Styles focuses on Bryan’s injured knee. Bryan counters Styles’ knee attack with an armbar. Styles gets back to his feet and kicks Bryan dead in the knee. Bryan tries make a comeback but Styles sends Bryan crashing into the turnbuckle knee first. Bryan lands the uppercut. Styles tries his backflip DDT. Bryan reverses it. Bryan sets up the knee attack. Styles counters with the dropkick Bryan before he got the move off. Styles sets up for the Phoenominal Forearm. Bryan pushes Styles off the top rope. Bryan tries an avalanche back suplex. Styles shifts in midair and lands right on Bryan’s head. And we all know his history of brain/neck injuries. Bryan is in pain!

Bryan locks in the Yes Lock. Styles makes it to the ropes. Bryan goes for the suplex. Styles counters and suplexes Bryan over the top rope. Styles drops Bryan on the announce table with the injured knee. Bryan sends Styles crashing into the ring steps. Bryan gets Styles back into the ropes. He hits Styles with two dropkicks in the corner. Bryan sets up for some hurricanrana action off the top. Styles almost reverses it into a Styles Clash. Bryan powers through and still drops the top rope hurricanrana. Bryan gets him out to the apron.

He delivers a group of Yes! kicks. Styles catches Bryan’s leg and hits locks in the dragon screw in the ropes. Styles sets up the Phenomenal Forearm. Bryan catches Styles in the air and hits a butterfly suplex into an armbar. Bryan locks in the Yes! Lock. Styles almost reaches the ropes. Bryan turns it over. Styles counters the triangle into the Styles Clash. Styles immediately locks in the Calf Crusher on the injured leg and Bryan taps out!!

Winner by submission and STILL WWE Champion: AJ Styles

After the match, Bryan and Styles show respect. Samoa Joe comes out of nowhere and attacks!! He poses with the WWE Title to stand tall over the two.

Backstage Segment

Backstage, Paige expresses to Charlotte Flair that her match against Becky Lynch was awesome. Paige asked Flair if she could be the captain of the Smackdown Woman’s team at Survivor Series. Flair doesn’t think she is the right woman for the job. Paige asked her to think about it.

Up next, we will see The New Day!

Trick or Street Fight: Big E w/ The New Day vs. Cesaro w/ Sheamus & Big Show

The New Day comes out dressed as The Brokd which is awesome! Out of the break, Big E beats Cesaro with the kendo stick. Big E calls for the Big Ending. A huge brawl breaks out. Big Show sends each member of the New Brood Day over the top rope. Sheamus knocks Kingston in the head with the plate of pancakes. The rolling senton by Sheamus on Kingston.

Big Show tries to drown Woods in some punch. Alphamare Waterslide onto a bunch of pumpkins by Cesaro. E kicks out. E sends Sheamus through the table. Show tries to Chokeslam both Woods and Kingston. Woods spits the red liquid in Big Show’s face. Cesaro tries the Neutralizer but Big E reverses. E spits the red liquid in Cesaro’s face. He drops the Big Ending for the big win.

Winner by pinfall: Big E

Backstage Segment

Backstage, Shane let Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, and the Miz know that if any of them make it to the finals of the World Cup and lose to a Raw superstar they will no longer have a spot on the Smackdown roster.

Also, Paige is with AJ Styles and he wants Joe at Crown Jewel. She makes it official!

United States Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs R-Truth w/ Carmella

Nakamura kicks Truth, starting off with control of the match. Vintage Nakamura tries to tell R-Truth to “COMEEEE ONNNNNN!!!” but R-Truth punches Nakamura. R-Truth sends Nakamura to the outside. Carmella gets in and hits a dance break with R-Truth.

After the break, Nakamura with the two count after the leaping knee drop. Nakamura puts R-Truth in the hold. R-Truth rises to his feet. R-Truth catches Nakamura with a boot. Lie Detector by R-Truth and the nearfall. Nakamura hits the Kinshasa for the win.

In-Ring Segment

Lynch brags that she won. Lynch was the last woman standing. At the end of the night, everyone knew who the real main event was. Sunday proved that Lynch is THEE man. Lynch says she wants Ronda Rousey next. Lynch says she traveled the world to smash people like Rousey, which is true.

Joe states that he will write the final chapter between him and AJ.

Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton & The Miz

Hardy drops Orton with a hip toss. Hardy locks Orton in an armbar. Hardy goes up top for the Whisper in the Wind. Miz pushes Hardy off the top. Miz and Orton take turns on Hardy. Hardy surprises Orton with the Whisper in the Wind. Hardy and Orton both tag their partners in. Mysterio hits a senton on Miz. Miz tries a sunset flip. Mysterio kicks Miz in the face. He’s on fire! DDT by Mysterio and the nearfall. Backbreaker by Miz and Mysterio kicks out. Miz almost drops the Skull Crushing Finale but Mysterio reverses it into a head scissors. Mysterio and Hardy hit Poetry in Motion followed by the 619 by Mysterio. Hardy hits the Swanton Bomb for the win!

Winners by pinfall: Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio

After the match, Orton with the RKO to Hardy. Mysterio springboards off the top rope and eats a mid-air RKO from outta nowhere. Miz pats Orton on the back. Vintage Viper promptly RKOs Miz
