Smackdown Live Streaming Results And Discussion (2/06/18)


Hello and welcome everyone to the Smackdown Live Coverage and Chat! Tonight Smackdown eminates from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn’s “Yep!” Movement began to show tension. Daniel Bryan stated that they would face each other this week in a match to determine AJ Styles next challenger at WWE Fastlane. Smackdown Live opens with Shane McMahon and announces the main event. He says he's not exactly happy with the fact the winner getting a WWE Title Match. Shane brings Daniel Bryan to the ring stated that he respects his decision to make the match. Shane says Bryan isn't listening to the crowd, who chants Rusev Day! The crowd boos Sami and Owens when asked if they want to see them in the WWE title match. Bryan says he deserves a pay raise for making this match. Shane tells Bryan that he changed the WWE universe with the Yes! Movement. Shane tells Bryan not to allow Owens and Sami to manipulate him anymore. Shane says that Bryan wants nothing more than to compete in a match. A.J. Styles now makes his way to the ring and interupts Bryan and Shane. Styles says he's traveled all over the world and he's built for the grind. He goes on to say he can't stand the obsession with Owens and Zayn.

Nakamura tells Styles backstage that he will defeat him at Wrestlemania.

Charlotte vs. LIV Morgan:

Charlotte attacks Morgan quickly with shoulders in the corner. Charlotte then puts the boots to Morgan. Morgan rolls outside as we go to commercial. We come back from commercial with Morgan standing over Charlotte taunting. Morgan begins driving Charlotte head first into the turnbuckles. Charlotte begins to chop away at Morgan taking her to the ground. Morgan regains control as she takes Charlotte down from the top rope. She then hits her corner stomp for a two count. Morgan grounds Charlotte with a modified camel clutch. Charlotte reverses this and then Sarah Logan gets involved. The referee sends Logan and Riott to the backstage area. Charlotte connects with a big boot and the figure eight for the win.

Winner: Charlotte

Renee Young asks Owens backstage about his friendship if he were to lose. Owens says Young is asking the wrong person.

Bludgeon Brothers vs. Local Talent

Harper starts the match with a brutal looking dropkick. Rowan destroys the tag partner on the outside then carries him around the ring. Rowan hits the big splash in the corner, and then they hit their finisher for the win.

Winners: Bludgeon Brothers

After the match the Usos make their way to the ring. The Usos run down their career and explain how they've improved.

Daniel Bryan lists the first top 10, here is the order in reverse:

Tye Dillinger, Randy Orton, Becky Lynch, Usos, New Day, Bobby Roode, Naomi, Shinsuke Nakamura, Charlotte, A.J. Styles.

Backstage Rusev and Bobby Roode cut promos before their match.

Rusev vs. Bobby Roode (US Title Match)

This match begins with Rusev overpowering Roode into the corner. Rusev and Roode trade taunts after pushing each other into the corner. Rusev and Roode begin chain wrestling with Rusev gaining the upperhand. We come back from commercial break with Roode chopping Rusev. Roode connects with a blockbuster for two. Rusev regains control after a counter with a powerslam. Rusev now grounds Roode with a chinlock. Roode finally breaks free and strikes Rusev and hits a neckbreaker. Roode connects with a top rope flying clothesline and Aiden English gets involved. This allows Rusev to hit a superkick for a two count. Roode attempts to connect with a Glorious DDT after the break. Rusev tries a running splash but it's countered into a spinebuster for a two count. Roode counters the camel clutch into the Glorious DDT for the win.

Winner: Bobby Roode

After the match Orton lays out Roode with a RKO out of nowhere. Orton then drops English and Rusev as well. He poses with his music playing.

Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin vs. The Ascension:

Benjamin and Connor open with Benjamin getting some early offense. Connor gets some offense before Gable interferes. Gable tags in and grounds Connor, locking in a standing leg lock. Viktor gets the hot tag and he cleans house. Viktor connects with a mid rope knee strike for a two count. Benjamin takes control and they hit their tag team finisher for the win.

Winners: Gable and Benjamin

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens:

Zayn and Owens feel each other out to start. Both me push each other into the ropes for a rope break. Owens is dropped by a couple arm drag takedowns then an armbar. Zayn unleashes a fury of punches on Owens and he sends Owens to the outside. We come back from break with Owens landing a big boot to Zayn and then a clothesline. Owens then connects with an enzuguri and a package powerslam for a two count. Zayn reverses the cannonball suplex and connects with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Zayn attempts a superplex however Owens reverses and tries a top rope senton to no avail. Zayn connects with his tornado DDT through the turnbuckles on the outside. Owens connects with a superkick to counter the Helluva kick. Zayn kicks out of a frog splash at a two count. Zayn counters the pop up powerbomb and hits the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Owens goes to the outside and Zayn gets into Styles face. Styles strikes Zayn and then punches Owens. Daniel Bryan announces that due to the performance of both men and Styles interference, both men get a title shot. The show goes off the air with Styles, Owens and Zayn arguing.
