Commentators: Tom Phillips, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, Byron Saxton
Written by Brendan Wahl

The new United States Champion Kevin Owens opened the show by coming down to the ring and celebrating the fact that he is once again the Face of America. Owens re-instated the United States Title Open Challenge... but announced that it would begin... next week because of personal feelings of hate towards the people of Richmond, Virginia. AJ Styles interrupted and then before long, Chris Jericho also made his return to Smackdown! After chastising Owens and AJ, Shane McMahon came down and made a triple threat match for the US Title tonight!

1) Shinsuke Nakamura def. Baron Corbin by pinfall in 9:26 when he hit him with the Kinshasa in a very hard-hitting bout.

Women's Champion Naomi had a confrontation with her SummerSlam opponent Natalya before Carmella interrupted and reminded the champ that she still has the briefcase.

2) Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair def. Lana/Tamina by pinfall in 4:26 when Charlotte pinned Lana following a big boot. After the bout, Tamina was quite unhappy with her partner but ordered her to the back.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal came down to the ring without any of his entourage and talked about his victory over Randy Orton at Battleground. He demanded to know who his opponent will be at SummerSlam and that brought out John Cena for a response. He congratulated Jinder for getting in the best shape of his life and that he did whatever is necessary to keep that championship but warned him that he would be meeting Cena at SummerSlam where he would win his 17th title, "it's nice to meet you, you can't see me, hit the trumpets!" Before Cena could leave, Daniel Bryan made his way out to say that Cena would still have to earn the opportunity and that would be... next week against Shinsuke Nakamura for the #1 contendership.

3) Sami Zayn/Tye Dillinger def. Aiden English/Mike Kanellis [w /Maria] by pinfall in 6:03 when Zayn pinned Kanellis following the Helluva Kick.

New Day came out with their newly-won tag team championships but The Usos jumped them and laid out all three members on the stage.

Shinsuke Nakamura cut a promo on facing John Cena next week.

4) AJ Styles def. United States Champion Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho by pinfall in 14:08 to win the title when he pinned Jericho following a frog splash from Owens. After the match, Owens got a microphone and complained about the whole thing being unfair and demanded his rematch for next week.
