Hello all! Welcome back to Wrestling News World for Smackdown Live! My name is Zack and I'll be your host for the evening. It has been a long time since I've worn the Blue Brand colors and covered Smackdown, but I look forward to working my old stomping grounds.

Smackdown Results

The show kicks off with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens talks about being the victim of a McMahon family vendetta, and how they won't rest until they get their pound of flesh. They are the latest objects of the McMahon family wrath. Shane tried that with Randy Orton. It wasn't long ago Stephanie used to use Randy Orton. How Randy has been handed everything because he was the McMahon's tool. Owens knew what he had to do, show he wasn't afraid of Randy Orton and outsmart Shane McMahon. Sami Zayn then explains, by showing physically, where ringside is and where it ends. In the ring, Kevin Owens eats an RKO out of nowhere! Shane's music hits and Sami is stuck between Shane McMahon and Randy Orton. Shane thanks Zayn for his explanation of what is ringside. Shane says he doesn't have anything against Sami and Kevin despite them thinking he does. In fact, to show that he doesn't, Shane is going to make sure Sami and Kevin are featured at Clash of Champions since they were upset they weren't featured at Survivor Series. At Clash of Champions, it will be Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing. Tonight, it will be Sami vs. Randy Orton and Shane says Owens will be allowed at ringside, in fact, he insists. Owens will be handcuffed to the bottom rope!

Rusev and Aiden English vs. New Day (Kingston and Big E)

English and Big E start the match. E is about to out power English then tags in Kofi who uses his speed to take control of English. Rusev pulls English out of danger as we head to commercial. We return from break and Rusev is in control of Kofi. Kofi manages to make some space and both teams make a tag. Big E takes down English and hits a huge splash. English rakes the eyes of Big E. Tag to Rusev who runs to Big E but gets planted hard. Tag to Kofi but Rusev attacks Big E and sends him into the steel stairs on the outside. Kofi comes flying out of nowhere and takes out Rusev. Rusev manages to hit a big kick to the back of the head of Kofi which allows them to pick up the win.

Winners: Rusev and Aiden English


Mojo is interviewed about his attack on Zack Ryder. He calls Ryder dead weight and if anyone has a problem with what he did to Zack, they can shove it.


Carmella, Lana, Tamina, and the Riott Squad all try to convince Daniel Bryan to put them in the Women's Championship match at Clash of Champions. He tells them, they'll all be in the match because it's going to be a lumberjack match.


Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode talk about Dolph Ziggler being added to the match, that it drops their odds to 1/3rd. Ziggler shows up and tells them it actually drops their odds to zero.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Local Jobbers

Shocker the Bludgeon Brothers HAMMERED the jobbers in about 45 seconds.

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode

Corbin and Roode go back and forth to start but the Roode takes control and sends Corbin out of the ring. Corbin hits a strong right hand and then hammers away at Roode on the mat. Corbin with a clothesline in the corner then locks in a headlock. Roode fights off Corbin and both men hit a double clothesline. Ziggler who was on commentary, gets in the ring and hits a Zigzag on Roode then Corbin.

Charlotte vs. Tamina

Lana, Carmella, and Natty are at ringside for this one. Tamina takes control of the match with her strength, to begin with. Charlotte shifts the tides with a well-timed headlock. Charlotte uses a series of shoulders to wear down Tamina. We head to break. We return and Charlotte keeps control with a series of chops. Charlotte hits a big boot and then locks in the Figure 8 for the win!

Winner: Charlotte

After the match, Natty teases a beat down of Charlotte but the Riott Squad makes their way down and gets in the face of Natty and her friends. A small fight breaks out but both teams end up pulling apart.

Sami Zayn vs. Randy Orton w/ Kevin Owens handcuffed to the bottom rope

The match started during commercial. When we join the match Orton is in control of Zayn. Orton throws Zayn out of the ring and beats him down outside the ring. Zayn makes his way over to where Owens is for protection. Orton throws Zayn into the apron and moves him away from Owens. Zayn tries some slaps but Orton just gets hyped up. Orton slams Zayn's head into the announce tables then drops Zayn onto the table. Orton throws Zayn into the ring. Orton gets distracted by Kevin's trash talk and ends up getting kicked in the head by Zayn from inside the ring. Zayn throws Orton into steel stairs. We head to break. We return to Randy Orton hitting a powerslam on Zayn. Zayn goes for a weapon under the ring, he ends up pulling out bolt cutters! He tries to free Owens but Orton is able to stop it. Orton blasts Owens and the Zayn attacks Orton. Orton is rolled into the ring and Zayn goes up top. Orton knocks Zayn down onto his sensitive bits. Orton hits a HUGE superplex on Zayn. Outside the ring Owens frees himself using the bolt cutters, but Orton is able to hit a clothesline on him. Zayn runs into a spike DDT. Orton signals the RKO but Owens is up on the side. Orton takes him down and rolls up Zayn in the corner for a win!

Winner: Randy Orton

Owens blasts Orton right after the match is over and he and Zayn beat down Randy. Shinsuke Nakamura's music hits and Nakamura runs down and takes out Owens and Zayn! Orton hits an RKO on Zayn. Orton shakes Shinsuke's hand. Orton and Shinsuke then both hit their finishers one more time. Backstage Shane comments that this could be the most statisfying ending to Smackdown in history. Daniel comments that means Shane must be done punishing Zayn and Owens now, then. Shane says he's just begun. What he didn't mention was that Owens and Zayn's match with Orton at Clash of Champions will have a special guest referee...Shane McMahon. And if Owens and Zayn don't win they're fired...not just from Smackdown but all of WWE. He walks away as Daniel Bryan stares at him.
