Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon opened the show with the announcers mentioning that they have been harbouring serious doubts about whether they should actually stage the Styles/Orton match tonight or not. Bryan said that he believed Orton to be the rightful challenger because he won the Royal Rumble while Shane believed Styles to be the rightful challenger because he went through hell after Orton already surrendered his title shot. Bryan and Shane recapped the last few weeks of action in the title situation before showing footage of Orton burning down the Wyatt Compound from last week. Bryan announced (as they had already done so earlier in the week) that AJ Styles will face Randy Orton in tonight's main event for the right to go to Wrestlemania and go after the WWE Championship.

AJ Styles caught up with the bosses in the back to say that they've made a huge mistake and that there is a conspiracy against him. He promised to take out Randy Orton and said he wasn't afraid of "a little fire" or a "viper."

James Ellsworth talked about beating AJ Styles in three matches in a row while it took John Cena forever to beat him once. He then gave an introduction to his "friend who is a girl," Carmella.

1) John Cena & Nikki Bella def. Carmellsworth by submission in 7:06. Before the match could even begin, Miz and Maryse made their way out and the distraction was enough for Carmella to superkick Nikki and send us into a commercial break. When we returned from the break, Miz & Maryse were on commentary. Cena was quickly tagged into the match but Ellsworth wanted no part of him. The end came when Cena and Nikki got stereo submissions over their opponents via the STF.

Miz attacked Cena from behind while Maryse gave Nikki a cheapshot to lay out both faces. Miz then got on the microphone and compared their relationships. He said Maryse was his true lover but someone like Cena had to sign a contract to have Nikki pose as his girlfriend. Maryse then dropped the microphone on Nikki and kissed her husband in the middle of the ring.

Randy Orton said that the only recourse AJ Styles would have is to... RUN.

Curt Hawkins called out Dean Ambrose for attacking him last week so the champion quickly ran out and clotheslined him on the outside before grabbing a microphone to call out Baron Corbin. Dean accused Baron of being scared to face him like a man but Baron appeared on the big screen to announce that he goes to the ring when he wants to and not when Dean wants him there. Baron said that he will take everything from Dean and that includes his title. Ambrose then heads to the back to find Baron himself but not before dropping Hawkins with Dirty Deeds on the outside of the ring.

The same Women's History Month video from RAW is shown.

Dean continues to search for Corbin in the back.

Mojo Rawley announced that he will be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. Dolph Ziggler interrupted to taunt him and Mojo made a crack about Dolph never having a Mania moment.

Dean finally found Corbin but only after the Lone Wolf hit him from behind with a steel pipe. Corbin then placed him underneath a forklift and lowered it onto the Intercontinental Champion. Official quickly ran down to get Dean out from underneath it and called for a doctor.

Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss came out for the official Bliss-ertation to announce her Wrestlemania challenger. She first noted that her opponent would NOT be Naomi, Nikki Bella, Carmella or Becky Lynch ("Chucky"). After insulting Becky though, the Irish Lass Kicker herself made an appearance and made a "Beck-laration" that she would defeat Bliss and take the Women's Title back at Wrestlemania. This led to an appearance by Natalya who declared that Becky is not in the same league as her or Alexa. The champ said that Nattie isn't getting a title shot though (and called her "the worst there is, the worst there was and the worst there ever will be"). Mickie interrupted to call all the potential challengers rude and said that she would obviously be the challenger but Bliss didn't seem to be on-board with that either. The arguing continued until Daniel Bryan interrupted and made a Smackdown Women's Title match with Alexa Bliss defending her title against every available woman on the Smackdown roster at Wrestlemania. Bryan channeled Theodore Long and made a tag match between all four women - right now.

2) Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss & Mickie James def. Becky Lynch & Natalya by pinfall in 12:40. The end came when Nattie turned on Becky and gave her a German Suplex to allow Bliss to score the pinfall. Mickie was upset about Bliss tagging herself in and nailed her with the Mick Kick before taking her title and briefly posing with it.

3) Randy Orton def. AJ Styles for the #1 Contendership by pinfall in 17:42. These two fought each other in a hellacious bout that saw Styles work over Orton's leg late into the match after he injured it outside the ring. The crowd seemed pretty split on who they were rooting for as well. The match was all over when Orton nailed AJ with an RKO outta nowhere for the win.
