Eek! Unfortunate timing for the WWE to have a taped show airing tonight after widespread news of champion Seth Rollins' serious knee injury and forfeiture of the title hit the mainstream media earlier in the day. We know that we'll have a new champion at Survivor Series. How we get there is anyone's guess. Were they able to sneak a late edit into the show and explain the injury? Probably not, but it's worth keeping an eye out. Let's see what went down...

Haven't seen this one in a while: Alberto Del Rio opens the show with a promo by Zeb Colter promoting the hate-free nation of Meximerica. Relatively uninspiring. His opponent tonight is Neville. Relatively slow-paced match with Del Rio controlling much of the action until Neville hits a huge moonsault off the top rope onto the floor. His success rate in hitting that recently hasn't been great, but that one was on the money. Neville goes to the well one-too-many times as Del Rio knocks him off the top rope and hits his two-foot stomp for the pinfall. After the match, Del Rio locks on the cross arm breaker, but gets quickly interrupted by Jack Swagger! The two face off in the ring as Del Rio backs off the stare-down and heads to the back.

“When we say Oooh, you say...” Welcome back Uso Brothers! The high-flying tag team returns to take on The Ascension. Good, short tag team match allowing the Uso's to hit many of their traditional high spots. The superkick followed by the big splash ends the match and leads to some awkward celebratory dancing.

Time for a little Survivor Series tune-up! The four-member Wyatt Family takes on the team of The Prime Time Players and the Lucha Dragons. Darren Young must have drawn the short straw in the locker room, because he gets pounded for five-plus minutes by each member of the Wyatts. He's finally eliminated after Strowman's bear-hug leaves him unresponsive. Sin Cara is the next one to fall after Harper's big clothesline, giving the Wyatt's a 4-2 advantage. Rowan plants Kalisto with a big slam, and we've got a 4-on-1 situation with Titus O'Neil remaining. It doesn't last long. Bray Wyatt hits Sister Abigail to complete the clean sweep.

Stop me if you've heard this one before...King Barrett gets squashed in two minutes. Ryback hits Shellshock for the pin in a match that was shorter than the entrances.

Taminooooo! A quality Natalya vs. Tamina match gets a black eye for the finish as Tamina butchers her splash off the top rope. That was...not pretty. Natalya gets the roll-up for the pin and escapes before the rest of Team B.A.D. swarms. Overall, not a bad match, but that sell on the splash left A LOT to be desired.

Tonight's main event is Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose is a match that has schmoz finish written all over it. Slow start with a lot of holds and technical wrestling, but both guys get going with their signature spots, including several off the top rope. Ambrosegains the upper-hand and looks to set up Dirty Deeds, but Owens goes down in a heap after taking a kick. Owens rolls on the ground, complaining that Ambrose's kick was low. The referee buys it and Ambrose is disqualified. Owens sneaks out of the ring thinking that he's escaped, but Ambrose delivers a beating to send the crowd home happy.
