Forget Brandon Weedon, forget Matt Cassel. Steve Austin believes he is the best option to quarterback the Dallas Cowboys until Tony Romo returns from a broken left clavicle.
Austin told The Dallas Morning News (via WWE.com), "I tell you what, I've got some time on my hands. I could be there Sunday, playing the Philadelphia Eagles ... I think I can line 'em up, throw for about 300, 400 yards."
Austin even gave some specifics, explaining, "Get [Jason] Witten open, get Dez [Bryant] working. A lot of underneath routes. Give [Darren] McFadden the ball a few times. Maybe do a little end-around, fake the reverse pitchout, let me run downfield and Darren can throw me the ball. About 60 yards out, catch it in full stride and boom, spike it over the damn goalpost."
There won’t be much time to get Austin up to speed as the Cowboys kickoff at 8:30 PM EST tonight against the Philadelphia Eagles from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of Wrestlemania 32.
