For the past few months, Seth Rollins has had his problems. He lost his IC Title to Dolph Ziggler and has had run-ins with Drew McIntyre being at Ziggler's side. Since this has become an issue, Rollins figured he needed backup once and for all at SummerSlam. He brought out the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose! We haven't seen Ambrose since the end of last year when The Shield reunited. To start the main card out, Ziggler and Rollins will battle for the IC Title!

Intercontinental Championship - Seth Rollins w/ Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler (c) w/ Drew McIntyre

As Rollins and Ziggler got things started, McIntyre thought he would get involved. Before he could even try, Ambrose came to get in his face. Rollins nearly had the advantage on the champ but Ziggler rolled out to ringside to regroup. Ziggler gets back in and is ready to fight.

Rollins quickly turns the table and Ziggler rolls back out, once again, to regroup. McIntyre thought he could intimidate Rollins but Ambrose comes over to even that playing field. They get back in the ring and it seems that Rollins has some control. McIntyre comes to distract him, Ziggler takes advantage! Ziggler is now in control of this one! He's wearing his challenger down, attacking every bit of Rollins, including that surgically repaired knee. He ends up at ringside!

McIntyre thinks he wants smoke with Rollins but Ambrose obliges. Ziggler gets Rollins back in the ropes and goes back to wearing the former champion down. Just as Rollins picks some energy back up, Ziggler flips him over the rope back towards ringside. Remember, there's a psychopath and a lunatic fringe at ringside. They get back in and, quickly, end up back on the outside.

Taking his time getting back in the ring, he picks up some energy and gets going against the champ. Rollins gets a nearfall and climbs up top. Ziggler meets him but is knocked back down. He rolls out of harm's way and this ticks Rollins off. Rollins for the suicide dive and the momentum builder, once again! Rollins with another nearfall. He goes for a Bucklebomb but Ziggler is fighting it. Ziggler flips a drop from Rollins into a Ziggler Sleeper Hold but it's quickly broken.

Both men end up on the apron, Ziggler is hyping himself up. Rollins tries to counter but Ziggler kicks him into the steelpost and follows up with the DDT on the apron. Rollins rolls back in the ring as the referee almost counted him out! Ziggler looks to capitalize but Rollins turns it over and climbs to the top for a frog splash. Ziggler gets the knees up with the nearfall! He gets back to work on the challenger. Rollins counters the fameasser and gets Ziggler on the top rope. Ziggler tries to fight him off but Rollins jumps right back up and hits an inverted superflex followed up with the modified sidewalk slam and a nearfall! How in the world did Ziggler kick out of that!? Rollins sets up for the Curb Stomp, McIntyre sneaks up behind Ambrose and pushes him into the steel steps. Ziggler moves out of the way and comes back with the Zigzag and the near fall.

For months, Braun Strowman has a thorn in Kevin Owens' side. He has put KO through hell and back. He dropped KO off of a 30-foot ladder at Money in the Bank, threw him off stage in a porta-potty, and has thrown him off the top of a steel cage and onto the announcers' table. KO gave the best idea to Stephanie McMahon and Raw GM Kurt Angle about fighting Strowman at SummerSlam for his MITB briefcase. Stephanie liked the sound of it and made it official!
