For those of you that watched the most recent edition of Smackdown Live, you probably noticed that something was a bit different about the announce table. David Otunga was away filming a movie and Mauro Ranallo was grounded due to the winter storm weather. This left Tom Phillips and JBL to take over the booth for the night.
Josh Mathews indirectly responded to Mauro's absence by tweeting the following:
">@OfficialTAZ in the car, I once drove us 2 days to Indianapolis to make a TAPED Smackdown show from NYC. #JustSayin'

Taz responded via his daily podcast on CBS and said that if someone missed a show back in the day, you got some serious heat in the locker room and commentators only being there once a week and getting paid a lot meant you had to be there every time. Taz also noted that the company should have prepared more for the incoming weather and come up with another plan to make sure Ranallo was in town on time. Taz made it clear that it was not a personal attack on the commentator though and put him over for his broadcast talent.
