Triple H spoke to ESPN.com about a number of topics in a new article now online. Among topics discussed, he explained why he thinks it’s funny when people suggest Shinsuke Nakamura should be put on Raw every week.
Below is an excerpt:
"One of the things that's funny to me -- I always laugh at it -- is when people say to me, 'I watch Nakamura every week in NXT. I don't know why they don't put him on Raw so I can watch him on Raw every week," WWE executive Paul 'Triple H' Levesque told ESPN, pulling a confused facial expression.
"You're getting to see him, right? You're getting to see him doing what he does, in a big way. The opportunities are there. He's got that clean path now to get here, when he gets here he might go there, he might go back.”
Nakamura carries the most expensive WWE NXT contract of all-time and defected from New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this year. He’s seen as the new face of the NXT brand and will continue to carry that role as the company transitions new names to the main roster. He too will eventually get a shot at the main roster even though he will be 37 years old next year.
Nakamura beat AJ Styles for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in the co-main event of last year’s Wrestle Kingdom 10 show by New Japan Pro Wrestling. Both he and Styles departed for WWE shortly thereafter.
