Christian’s historic in-ring career has officially come to a close in WWE, as the company quietly moved his official profile to their Alumni section and noted the following in the last paragraph of his bio:
His reign ended on Raw 1,000, and Christian was out of action for nearly a year with a shoulder injury. He returned in June 2013, once again poised to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Although he never regain the title, he solidified his legacy and left active compeition still at the top of his game.
Jerry Lawler stated on an episode of Raw in 2014 that Christian was “retired,” a claim Christian later disputed. He did a lawsuit angle on WWE television at the end of last year, something you can read about at this link.
We have Christian’s final WWE match as a Fatal 4-Way bout on the March 24, 2014 episode of Raw featuring Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus.
