Updating a previous report, WWE has confirmed that Rusev is not medically cleared to compete at tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. He was scheduled to participate in the Elimination Chamber Match for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship.

WWE questions what this means for the bout. Below is an excerpt from their report:

With Rusev out of action, what will become of his spot in tonight's match for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship? Will there be a replacement? And how will this breaking news affect the game plans of the other Chamber participants heading into WWE's fiercest battleground? Find out when Elimination Chamber takes over the award-winning WWE Network tonight at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Prior that, WWE had been calling his injury a "leg injury." The injury occurred during a match taped for last week’s Smackdown against Ryback last Tuesday. He was seen the next day on crutches and his availability for the pay-per-view was very much in question. Add A Pro Wrestling Insider To Your Facebook Feed - Friend Richard Gray Now!
