Wrestlemania 30 Special On NBC To Exclude Daniel Bryan's Matches

We noted on Wednesday that WWE and NBC announced the world television premiere of Wrestlemania 30, airing on the network on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 7-8 PM ET.

In the official press release for the show, seen here at TV By the Numbers, there is a glaring exclusion. There is no mention of Daniel Bryan, who beat Triple H at Wrestlemania 30 and went on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match that also involved Batista and Randy Orton.

Instead, the release promotes the opening segment featuring Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and The Rock, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt and Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar.

While up against a time constraint of one hour , obvious exclusions had to be made. However, many will argue that Daniel Bryan's two main event matches were integral parts of this year's Wrestlemania broadcast. The exclusion likely has more to do with uncertainty regarding his health. Bryan underwent neck surgery in May and possibly needs more as he has not recovered as hoped. Original plans were for him to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, however, they were scrapped due to aforementioned health issues.

As things currently stand, Bryan is officially listed as out indefinitely and is out of all WWE creative plans.
