WWE Cut Pre-Shows To Save Money - Jerry Lawler's Contract Up Soon

WWE made the decision to scrap the 30-minute Raw and Smackdown Pre-Shows as a way to cut costs.

Jerry Lawler in particular was getting paid like he was still doing weekly color commentary and it just didn’t make sense to have him getting paid a hefty salary to serve as a Pre-Show analyst.

Lawler was notified of the decision by Kevin Dunn and contacted by Vince McMahon to followup. Jerry is under contract with WWE until January 2017, at which point they’ll negotiate for a new deal. Regardless of what happens, Lawler is expected to continue as the host of the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony next year and beyond.
