Good evening wrestling world! On a night of hits on the gridiron, we take the action to the ring, as WWE presents Halftime Heat for the first time in twenty years. Tonight, we see the titans of NXT collide, as the trio of Aleister Black, Ricochet, and Velveteen Dream take on Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano!

Aleister Black, Ricochet, & Velveteen Dream vs. Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, & Adam Cole

We kick off Halftime Heat with a video package highlighting the evolution of NXT. Halftime Heat is brought to us from a live crowd at the performance center in Orlando, Florida. WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels, and Vic Joseph are the announce team for this special event.

The six competitors make their way to the ring to a very energetic crowd in Orlando.

Ricochet and Gargano start the match off. Some quick action results in pinfalls from both men. Ricochet is able to show off that athletic ability. However, Gargano is quickly able to halt his momentum, as he floors him with a kick to the face. Cole tags in, but before he’s able to do any real damage, Black makes the tag in. He quickly fastens the pace of the match as he shows off the quick striking ability. A big knee to the jaw drops Cole, and Black goes for the pin. Cole kicks out at two. Black sets Cole up for a suplex, but he battles out and Ciampa tags himself into the match, as does the Velveteen Dream. Dream is able to take down Ciampa with an arm drag from the top rope and quickly goes to work on the champ. A failed irish whip attempt by Ciampa brings the two men to a standstill in the middle of the ring. Before the two can lock up, Ciampa delivers a knee to the jaw of Dream as he falls to the corner. Ciampa delivers a couple of quick strikes in the corner. He again whips Dream into the corner and goes for a running attack, but Dream meets him with an elbow. Dream is able to deliver a double axe handle, which sends Ciampa outside of the ring. Dream delivers an axe handle to Gargano on the apron. The three baby faces pose on the inside of the ring.

The action spills to the outside, as Dream is dragged to the outside by his opponent. Gargano delivers a a slam to Dream onto the barricade and follows it up with a knee to the face. He brings Dream back to the inside and immediately puts Dream into a side headlock. Dream is able to fight out as Ciampa bounces against the ropes. This allows Gargano to make a tag, unbeknownst to Dream. Dream attempts to whip Ciampa to the rope, but Ciampa is able to move out of the way, allowing Gargano to deliver a slingshot spear. Dream kicks out of a pin at one. Dream is brought into the corner as Cole tags into the match. He stomps Dream in the corner and then attacks his other opponents knocking them off of the apron. Cole delivers an elbow to Dream and then sets himself on top of the turnbuckle. He goes for a splash, but Dream delivers a superkick to the midsection, leaving both men on the mat.

Ricochet makes the tag and delivers a dropkick to Cole. DIY run into the ring, but Ricochet is able to take the duo out with a double ddt. Cole attempts to blindside the former champion, but he avoids the attack. This sends Cole to the middle turnbuckle and Ricochet pays homage to Rey Mysterio as he delivers a 619 of sorts. He follows it with a springboard back elbow and a moonsault. Cole is able to kick out of a pin at two. Ricochet attempts to set Cole up for a slam, but Adam Cole hits Ricochet with a step up enziguri. Cole makes the tag to Gargano, and Gargano attempts to lock in the Gargano Stretch, but Ricochet is able to battle out of it and make the tag to Black. Black comes in hot, once again showing his striking ability, as he delivers a shoulder block and then a sweep to the legs of the champion. He follows it with a running knee to the side of the head of Gargano. Ciampa enters the ring and attempts a clothesline, but Black is able to avoid it and deliver a springboard moonsault to both champions. He goes for the pin, but Gargano again kicks out. Running off of his momentum, Black delivers a moonsault to Cole and Ciampa on the outside of the ring. However, he is met with a suicide dive from Gargano. This is followed up by an axe handle to all three opposing men by Dream. Ciampa jumps onto the apron, but is met with a dropkick by Ricochet. Ricochet is then able to avoid a slingshot spear from Gargano and deliver a dive onto Ciampa and Cole on the outside.

In the ring, Black is able to land a meteora onto Gargano. He follows it with a roundhouse and a german suplex with a bridge. He goes for thepin, but Gargano kicks out at two. Dream makes the tag in, and the two attempt a double suplex, but it is stopped by Ciampa. DIY unload a couple of strikes onto their opponents. Gargano and Dream fall to the outside as the other two continue inside. Black runs toward Ciampa in the corner, and is sent to the apron. Cole delivers a superkick right to the temple of Black on the apron, and Ciampa follows it with a vicious ddt. However, Ricochet is able to land a moonsault from seemingly out of nowhere onto Ciampa. He is then met with a ddt from Gargano from the apron. Gargano then receives a reverse sto from Dream and is pinned, but he kicks out at two. Both men are very slow to get up. Ricochet is able to make the tag as Dream setup for the Dream Valley Driver. Gargano fights out and sends Dream to the outside as well as avoiding an attack from Ricochet from the top rope. Ricochet is able to land a european uppercut, but Gargano follows with a discus clothesline. Cole makes the tag attempts to go on the attack, but Ricochet is able to deliver multiple strikes to his two opponents, including a huge superkick to Cole. He is able to land a standing shooting star press onto Gargano and attempts to follow it with a moonsault from the top rope. However, Garagno rolls out of the way, and Ricochet is met with a superkick mid air from Cole. Cole goes for the pin, but the former champion kicks out.

Cole attempts a shining wizard to the back of the neck to Ricochet, but he avoids ad delivers a quick pin. Cole is able to kick out. He gets up and a barrage of forearms has started in the ring, with both teams trading blows. After the blows stop, both teams come to a standstill and stand on separate sides of the ring. A brief pause in the action leads to a quick stare down before they unleash more blows onto each other. A quick, intense encounter lead to the two legal men, Cole and Ricochet, being the only men left in the ring. Cole, on the turnbuckle, is able to leap onto Ricochet and deliver a Canadian Destroyer. He goes for the pin, but Ricochet again kicks out. Cole was left shocked in the ring. Gargano and Ciampa slowly make their way into the ring, as Ricochet is outnumbered. The three men hit Ricochet with a triple superkick in the center of the ring. Cole goes for the pin, but Black is able to break up the attempt at the last second.

Black is sent to the outside by Gargano. Dream makes the tag, but he is outnumbered three to win. He accepts the challenge and takes on all three opponents. However, he is met with a double superkick. Ciampa attempts to set up a Fairy Tale Ending, but Black is able to break up the attempt, allowing Dream to land a superkick to Ciampa. He stays standing, but is met with an accidental superkick from Adam Cole.Black then delivers a kick to the head of Ciampa, who is still standing. He is the almost struck with a superkick from Gargano, but Gargano is able to stop himself. He, however, is met with a Black Mass. Dream is able to land the Dream Valley Driver onto Ciampa. Cole goes for a superkick, but eats a huge Black Mass. Dream follows with another Dream Driver, and Ricochet finishes with a 450 splash. The finish comes from a Purple Rainmaker from Dream. Dream is able to pin Adam Cole in the middle of the ring. Ricochet, Aleister Black, & Velveteen Dream win

Wow, what an amazing performance from all six men, but in the end, the dream team of Ricochet, Aleister Black and Velveteen Dream come out the victors!
