From the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
Report by Sean Hopkins of WrestlingNewsWorld.com

The show opens with a video package hyping the main feuds heading into tonight's event. A good deal of time is spent on Rollins/Kane, and of course Undertaker vs. Lesnar in Hell in a Cell.

The pyro hits and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show. Not much hype as John Cena's music hits, and the United States Champion makes his way out to the ring to tons of fans singing 'John Cena sucks' in time with Cena's music.

Cena stands in the ring with a mic while soaking in the atmosphere of the Staples Center. Cena says we better take care of business right now. LA is the place to be. John Cena is still the man to beat. Cena says a special edition of the US open challenge starts right now. You want some, come get some.

Zeb Coalter, of all people, makes his way out on a scooter, twirling his mustache. Coalter has a mic, and he runs down Cena a bit, calling him a separator. He says it's time for everyone to come together, but what he really thinks is that it's time for Cena to lose his title to someone who will do more with it than Cena ever has, so he introduces Cena's opponent, Alberto Del Rio! Del Rio makes his way out to a pretty huge pop from the crowd.

Del Rio makes his way down the aisle, accompanied by Zeb Coalter, and this looks to be a very interesting pairing. The fans seem pretty darn excited to see Del Rio back in the WWE.

WWE United States Championship Match

After formal ring introductions, we're ready to kick things off. The bell rings and both men circle each other before locking up. Cena clamps on a headlock, but Del Rio pushes him right off. Del Rio gets in a kick to Cena's spine, then goes back up to the top for another leaping shot to Cena's face. Cena charges out of nowhere and scores with a big clothesline. Cena and Del Rio both stand and trade right hands. Cena ducks a right and scores with two shoulder tackles, and a belly to back suplex. Del Rio connects with a big kick to the side of Cena's head, and that's enough to put Cena down for three.

Winner and NEW WWE US Champion: Alberto Del Rio

Following the match, Del Rio shakes hands with Zeb, and holds his hand, and his newly won title, in the air.

Backstage Hunter and Stephanie are watching the show. Rollins comes in and says that's how you start the show. What a moment, not as good as when Rollins beat Cena for the US Title, but a moment nonetheless. Rollins says he's imagining a world where Corporate Kane is the COO, and Demon Kane is the Champion, and he can't imagine it. Corporate Kane comes in and says he's served his suspension and he's good to go. Rollins tells Kane to cut the crap, everyone knows Corporate and Demon Kane are the same person. Hunter tries to calm things down. Rollins says come tomorrow night, he'll still be the man. Kane wishes Rollins luck, and says he'll need it.
