The show opens with a video package on NXT TakeOver: The End, where NXT Champion Samoa Joe beat Finn Balor in a steel cage match.

Tom Phillips and Corey Graves welcome us to the show from commentary. We will hear from Samoa Joe and Finn Balor tonight.

Paul Ellering and The Authors of Pain make their way out for the opening match. Two jobbers are in the ring.

Authors of Pain vs. Two Jobbers

One of AOP viciously clotheslines the first jobber. The second jobber is tagged and is beat up in the heel corner. The other Author is tagged in; he throws in the first jobber even though he's not legal. Both Authors are in the ring now to hit one of the jobbers with their finishing clothesline.

Winners: The Authors of Pain - by pinfall (1:25)

Cathy Kelly is backstage with Andrade Almas. Tye Dillinger interrupts and wants to right a wrong from TakeOver. Almas removes his straps, seemingly accepting the challenge.


An interviewer tries to get a word with The Authors of Pain. Ellering tells her to do her job before walking off.

Carmella makes her way to the ring while cutting a promo. Tessa Blanchard enters next.

They lock up, Tessa applies a headlock. Carmella does a head scissors takedown out of the corner. Carmella applies a headlock of her own. Tessa gets out, only to get tripped and pinned. Carmella gets slammed head-first to the mat. Blanchard puts Carmella in an abdominal stretch. Carmella nails the Bronco Buster. She follows it with the facebuster and locks in the triangle to make Blanchard tap.

Winner: Carmella - by submission (2:34)

Last week - Samoa Joe says he destroyed his brother and hunted a demon all around the world... to take this title form him. TakeOver marked the end of the questions and the beginning of Samoa Joe's era.

Cathy Kelly talks to Blake and Murphy backstage. Murphy tries to blame Blake, but Blake interrupts and blames Alexa Bliss. Murphy says they are looking forward to claiming what is rightfully theirs. Beating TM61 will be the first step in doing so.


TM61 makes their way to the ring. Blake & Murphy enter without Alexa Bliss.

TM61 vs. Blake & Murphy

Shane and Blake start the match. Shane wraps the arms up until Blake reverses the hold. Shane rolls through and does a backflip to get out. Nick Miller is tagged in, applies a headlock, does a backdrop, and tags Shane. Shane covers. Nick kicks Murphy before TM61 double teams Blake. Murphy manages to get the upperhand with a clothesline, covers Thorne. Blake tags in with a knee drop and cover. Murphy covers Shane again before applying a headlock.

Shane makes Murphy kick Blake, then makes Blake clothesline Murphy. Miller tags in with clotheslines on Blake. Nick does a corner clothesline before clotheslining Murphy off the apron. TM61 hits Blake with Thunder Valley for the win.

Winners: TM61 - by pinfall (5:28)

The commentators discuss The Revival becoming two-time NXT Tag Team Champions last week. We see an interview where Dash calls them the greatest tag team on the planet. Dawson celebrates the fact that they are the first team to be 2-time champs in NXT. They clink titles before walking off.

We see photos of Bobby Roode making his NXT debut at Download this past weekend.

Next we see footage of Nia Jax beating Bayley last month in a hard-fought match. Bayley, backstage, says she has an appointment next week, so should be back in the ring within two weeks.

Tye Dillinger makes his way to the ring for the next match.

Tye Dillinger vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas

Tye grabs Andrade's left hand to start the match. Cien hits a back elbow after being whipped towards the ropes. Almas hits a springboard crossbody as Tye rolls out of the ring. They chop each other before Almas sends Dillinger back in. Tye takes Almas out of the ring again. Back in, Almas nails a dropkick, followed by another, sending Tye out of the ring. Tye runs back in and eats a hurricanrana. Dillinger exits the ring as Almas poses in the ropes.


Almas traps Tye in a left arm hold. Almas rolls Tye up after uniquely jumping on his shoulders. Almas grounds Dillinger with another left arm lock on the mat. Almas dodges Tye in the corner and hits a dropkick. Tye catches Almas with a backbreaker, cover for one. Tye kicks Almas in the corner several times. Dillinger chops Cien, Almas follows it with a chop of his own.

Almas hits a springboard dropkick from the second rope. Andrade delivers a few elbows to the face. Almas flips out of the ring onto Tye. Back in the ring, Almas hits a bulldog. Cien connects with the double running knees in the corner for the win.

Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas - by pinfall (8:38)


Finn Balor makes his way to the ring for a promo. Finn leans on the ropes and smiles as the crowd chants "Thank You Finn!" Balor says he saw NXT for the very first time back in Ireland. He saw Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady. Balor says that is what made him want to be apart of this. As much as Balor became a part of NXT, NXT became a part of Finn Balor and who he is. He was champ for 292 days, becoming the longest-reigning champ. Balor says he went to wars with Neville, Tyler Breeze, Kevin Owens, and Samoa Joe. The question of everyone's mind is what is next for Finn Balor?

The lights go out and Shinsuke Nakamura's music hits. The crowd breaks out in a "This is Awesome" chant. Nakamura says when he was in Japan, he watched Finn. Balor become the icon of NXT. Finn isn't champion anymore, but he still is the icon. Nakamura says if he wants to be the champion, he has to beat the icon. Nakamura has a painful look on his face as he says he "has to beat Finn" again. Balor gets closer and says Nakamura has answered his question. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor is in the future.

The two shake hands as Nakamura smiles and Balor's music hits. Graves hypes this dream match. Nakamura bows on the apron as the show ends.
