Tom Phillips & Corey Graves welcome us to the show at Full Sail but quickly sends it over to Charley Caruso who recaps the Dusty Tag Team Classic so far.
We head to San Jose where Roderick Strong and Austin Aries enter, followed by TM61. William Regal announces Aries can't compete due to his eye injury, therefore, this will be a singles match.
2nd Round: Roderick Strong vs. Shane Thorne
The match starts with back and forth holds and moves. Aries distracts Shane, allowing Strong to drop Thorne back-first on the turnbuckle. After the break, Thorne hits an impressive dropkick. They get tied up on top, resulting in Thorne hitting a double stomp to the chest, nearfall. Strong unloads with knees before slamming him to the mat, cover. The two trade chops and clotheslines. Thorne drops Strong with a Falcon Arrow into a cover, two. Thorne nails a sit out powerbomb, but Aries distracts the ref. Thorne eats a kick to the face, cover. Nick Miller takes out Aries, allowing Thorne to roll up Strong for the win.
Winner: Shane Thorne - by pinfall (8:10)
TM61 now advances to the semi-finals.
Next week, Nakamura and Joe will have a contract signing for their rematch in Toronto.
Back at Full Sail, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa make their way to the ring. NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival enter next, but Dawson is on crutches. Dawson claims he's suffered a "career-threatening" knee injury. He says The Revival will now have to pull out of the Tag Team Classic. Dash takes the mic and tells them this is their golden ticket to the next round. Their also saving #DIY the embarrassment of tapping out like Gargano did in Brooklyn. Dash & Dawson clink titles and leave.
2nd Round: #DIY advance by forfeit
Cedric Alexander is backstage and says being in NXT has been a learning experience. He wants to thank Andrade Almas for teaching him a lesson. Cedric wants to settle it in the ring anytime, any place.
Backstage, Gargano says they are not surprised by The Revival's actions this time. Ciampa promises to win the Tag Team Classic and then move on to become the next NXT Tag Team Champions.
Back in San Jose, No Way Jose and Rich Swann reunite again to face the unstoppable Authors of Pain.
2nd Round: Rich Swann & No Way Jose vs. The Authors of Pain
Jose and Akam start the match. Jose gets squashed at first, but manages to side step him and Akam falls through the ropes. Akam counters with boot before being rolled up after missing a stomp. Jose chops Akam in the face corner, tag to Swann. Rezar also gets the tag. Swann rolls around to dodge his massive opponent. Swann chops Rezar and throws several more punches. Swann does a big jump, allowing Rezar to fall out. Jose goes up top and jumps out onto the AoP. The teams re-group.
Back in the ring, Rezar whips Swann right into the turnbuckle chest-first. Ellering holds Swann in the ropes. Rezar covers for a two. Rezar holds Swann up on his right shoulder. Swann gets down and nails a big kick to the head. Akam is tagged and stops Swann from reaching Jose. Swann kicks him in the head too, but his ankle is still locked up. Swann slips through for a tag.
Jose takes Akam down with clotheslines. Rezar eats a slap to the face. Swann takes Rezar out. In the ring, Jose lifts Akam for the TKO, nearfall. Rezar pulls Swann off the apron. Jose turns around and punches Akam. Rezar makes the tag. Authors of Pain hit the Last Chapter for the win.
Winners: Authors of Pain - by pinfall (7:14)
Authors of Pain will face #DIY in semi-final action next week.
We see a video package on Mickie James returning. She'll challenge Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship in Toronto.
We come back to Full Sail for the main event. TJ Perkins enters, followed by Kota Ibushi. Sanity makes their way out last.
2nd Round: TJ Perkins & Kota Ibushi vs. Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton
Wolfe and Ibushi start the match. Ibushi tries to work the left arm, but takes a punch to the face. Ibushi fires back with strikes and a dropkick. Perkins tags in, does a crossbody and applies the knee bar. Fulton tags in and gets wrapped up in the knee bar as well. Ibushi comes back in; he and Perkins take turns kicking the crap out of Wolfe.
Perkins comes back in with several punches to Fulton in the face corner. Ibushi tags in and breaks Fulton away from TJ. Perkins and Ibushi hit a double dropkick. Ibushi does the triangle moonsault on Wolfe, while Perkins leaps out into the arms of Fulton for a slam on the apron. Fulton covers. Wolfe comes in to lock up the left arm of Perkins. After awhile, Perkins tries to break free but gets slammed back down, cover. Wolfe does a knee strike, Fulton hits a gut wrench on TJ. Fulton traps Perkins in a bear hug.
Wolfe back in, but Perkins trips Fulton into Wolfe's knees. Ibushi comes in off the hot tag. Kicks to Wolfe, standing moonsault and a cover. Perkins takes out Fulton quickly. Ibushi nails Wolfe with the golden star powerbomb, but Eric Young distracts the ref. Wolfe is able to tag Fulton. Sanity hits their double team finisher for the win.
Winners: Sanity - by pinfall (9:44)
Sanity will face TM61 next week in a semi-finals match.
