Tom Phillips, Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary as the show opens with Alesiter Black's entrance.

We are informed Ember Moon is out of TakeOver, so Asuka will defend her title against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot in Chicago. Ember promises to be better than ever when she returns.
Tom Phillips announces UK Champion Tyler Bate vs. Pete Dunne will take place at TakeOver as well. We see a video package on Dunne.
A cool video package on Ruby Riot airs. Backstage, producers attempt to do a sit-down interview with Nikki Cross, but she doesn't cooperate. She constantly asks where Ruby and Asuka are.
Drew McIntyre is asked about tonight's #1 contender's match. He admits to being disappointed he's not in it. But he's learned that you have to make things happen for yourself. Wesley Blake interrupts but backs off when Galloway towers over him.
A vignette for Patrick Clark airs.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are in the ring to address the NXT universe. They never got a fair one on one rematch for the Tag Titles, so they want AoP at Chicago. Gargano says the line starts behind #DIY. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss interrupt. Tino says the line starts behind them. Ciampa tells them they just crossed the line and a brawl ensues. A tag match starts as a result.
2) #DIY def. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss via Meeting in the Middle in 5:03.
Afterwards, William Regal comes out and says it's clear which team deserves to challenge for the titles at TakeOver. Paul Ellering interrupts with The Authors behind him. Paul says they're blood will be on Regal's hands. Regal proceeds to announce the teams will clash in a Ladder Match.
Kassius Ohno is asked what's next for him. He talks about falling short to Roode, but he's getting back up. Ohno says he has a lot of bricks to work through. Andrade Almas interrupts, so Ohno challenges Cien to a match next week.
We see a video package on UK Champion Tyler Bate.
Before entering, Roderick Strong says this is what he's been working for, and now it's time. Itami says he respects Strong, but he's going to go to sleep.
3) #1 Contender's Match: Hideo Itami def. Roderick Strong via GTS in 17:55.
After the show went off the air, Sanity attacked Strong in the ring.
