This week's show starts off with a video package advertising a sit-down interview with Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura. The theme song airs next.

Tom Phillips & Corey Graves welcome us to the show as NXT heads to Brooklyn this Saturday.

Hideo Itami makes his way to the ring for the opening match. CWC competitor Mustafa Ali enters next.

Hideo Itami vs. Mustafa Ali

Itami goes for a waistlock into a headlock to start. Ali breaks free with a dropkick and some showboating as Itami is down. Itami catches him with a knee to the gut, followed by a running kick to the chest. Ali escapes Itami in two corners, heads outside the ring. Hideo comes flying with a baseball slide that flattens Ali. Back in the ring, Mustafa connects with a neckbreaker, cover. Ali applies a headlock. Ali kicks Itami, follows it up with another neckbreaker and cover.

Ali slaps Itami, which prompts a clothesline and a dragon screw leg whip. Itami does a jumping kick, followed by strikes and kicks in the middle of the ring. Corner dropkick connects before Itami nails the running knee for the win.

Winner: Hideo Itami - by pinfall (3:21)

Graves and Phillips run down the TakeOver card.


A video package on "Glorious" Bobby Roode airs.

The commentators hype Bayley getting her NXT Women's Championship rematch against Asuka this Saturday. We see a video package on their history going into this weekend's rematch.

Carmella, Liv Morgan, and Nikki Glencross are shown warming up backstage for a big tag match coming up later tonight.


We see one big video package highlighting the matches for The Revival vs. Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa, Bobby Roode vs. Andrade Almas, and Austin Aries vs. No Way Jose. They all discuss their anticipation of competing in Brooklyn.

Alexa Bliss is shown forcing Mandy Rose and Daria to work out extra hard for their upcoming tag match.


William Regal is in his office for a TakeOver announcement. He calls it the best TakeOver yet as Billie Kay interrupts. She complains about not being on the card after her SmackDown debut and recent wins on NXT. Regal announces Kay will face the debuting Ember Moon.

Liv Morgan makes her way to the ring first for the tag match. Nikki Glencross and Carmella enter. Daria Berenato, Mandy Rose, and Alexa Bliss enter in that order. Graves goes nuts about the heel team.

Liv Morgan, Nikki Glencross & Carmella vs. Daria Berenato, Mandy Rose & Alexa Bliss

Nikki and Bliss start the match. Bliss ducks a clothesline and slams Nikki to the mat. Glencross returns the favor by slamming Bliss down. Nikki counters with a crossbody and dropkick. Bliss escapes the ring. Daria is tagged in, who takes her gloves off right away.


Morgan has Daria in a headlock as we come back from break. Daria clotheslines Liv after Bliss distracted her. Bliss comes in, slamming Liv to the mat so she can stand on her while holding the ropes. Bliss covers for one. Daria tags back in. She kicks Liv a few times before tagging Mandy. Rose strikes Liv, follows it with a snap mare. Rose applies a unique hold on Morgan. Mandy knocks Nikki off the apron, knees Liv for a cover.

Daria tags back in for some knees to the gut of Liv. Daria applies a body scissors hold in the middle of the ring for a lengthy time. Morgan finally breaks free by rolling her into a cover. Daria pulls Liv away from the face corner. Bliss gets the tag, knee to the gut. Liv dodges an elbow drop, but still can;t make the tag. Liv finally kicks Bliss in the face and tags Carmella as Rose is tagged.

Carmella drops Rose with a few clotheslines and Daria and Bliss are knocked off. Carmella sends Mandy flying across the ring. Carmella nails a jaw kick, cover. Bliss breaks it as Nikki enters the ring and hits a neckbreaker. Daria spears Nikki and they roll out of the ring. Rose tries covering Carmella. Carmella counters it into the Code of Silence submission for the win.

Winners: Carmella, Liv Morgan & Nikki Glencross - by submission (8:20)

Byron Saxton, Regal, and security are backstage as Samoa Joe sits and waits for the interview. Regal tells Joe this will not become a free-for-all. The interview is next.


Ember Moon debuts at TakeOver as she faces Billie Kay. We'll also see Bobby Roode make his TakeOver debut against Almas. Aries faces No Way Jose. Gargano & Ciampa challenge The Revival for the Tag Titles. We'll see Bayley and Asuka clash once again for the Women's Title. And the main event will see Samoa Joe defend the NXT Title against Nakamura.

Exclusive Sit-Down Interview

Byron Saxton is with Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura. Saxton asks Joe how excited he is for TakeOver. Joe says he is very excited as last year's Brooklyn show was his TakeOver debut match. Nakamura says he's also excited to be receiving a title shot. Joe goes on to name all the things he had to endure before getting his title shot. Nakamura walked right in and got his opportunity. Joe wonders if Regal doesn't want him to be NXT Champion.

Saxton brings up Nakamura not taking this match seriously. Shin says calm is his style while showing off his cheesy grin. Joe says he and Nak know each other very well. Nak apparently came to "Joe's dojo" and learned a lot several years ago. Joe says he respects Shinsuke, and Nak says he also respects Joe.

Joe doesn't believe him and security has to push the champ out. Regal stares on to end the show.
