In a pre-taped video, William Regal announces the second annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It will kickoff next week and end at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in November.
Tye Dillinger makes his way to the ring for the opening match. Angelo Dawkins enters next.
Tye Dillinger vs. Angelo Dawkins
Dillinger flips Dawkins over and chants 10 in his face. Waist lock, Dawkins backs Tye into the corner. Dawkins throws several punches until Tye counters with a chop. Tye hits a flying forearm off the ropes. Tye nails an inverted atomic drop and clothesline before stomping on Angelo in the corner. Tye connects with the Tye Breaker for the win.
Winner: Tye Dillinger - by pinfall (2:36)
Bobby Roode comes out to the stage as Tye walks up the ramp. Roode calls his win impressive. He says he doesn't quite see a 10 yet. They've known each other for a long time, but the main reason he came to NXT was to compete... and win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Roode says he hasn't made very many friends and he needs a partner. Roode says he needs the perfect partner. Tye shakes Roode's hand to make it official.
Hideo Itami is asked about facing Lince Dorado tonight. Itami calls him a great fighter who has heart, unlike Austin Aries. Itami calls Aries a coward and threatens to put him to sleep again.
The Ealy Brothers make their way to the ring. NXT Tag Team Champions Dash & Dawson enter next. Samoa Joe runs to the ring and takes out The Ealy Twins before The Revival can get in the ring. He hits them both with several sentons. Dash & Dawson just raise their hands and leave.
Joe grabs a mic and calls out Regal, saying he warned them this would happen. So the beatings will continue. "Bring me Nakamura or hand me my championship." Joe grabs one of the twins and tosses him into the ring steps before leaving.
Dan Matha debuts next week.
Mandy Rose enters for the first women's match tonight. Ember Moon makes her way out next.
Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon
Rose shoves Moon right before the bell. Moon shoves back and the action begins. Moon jumps over Mandy but takes a right hand across the face. Moon twists around with a couple kicks and a fall-away slam. Ember nails a crossbody off the ropes. Rose nails an impressive bicycle knee, cover. Rose applies a standing submission by wrapping herself around Moon. Rose drops Moon with a facebuster, cover for nearfall. Moon sends Rose into the turnbuckle face-first. Moon goes up top and nails the stunner for the win.
Winner: Ember Moon - by pinfall (3:05)
Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa are asked about the second Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They discuss debuting last year in the first tournament. Their new goals include winning the tourney, beating The Revival, and winning the NXT Tag Team Titles.
We see another vignette for Sanity.
The Authors of Pain enter as two jobbers await them in the ring already.

Akam spears one of the jobbers into the turnbuckle, knocking the other off the apron. Razar is tagged, and he presses one out of the ring. Akam tags back in for the finishing clothesline and the final cover for the win.

Paul Ellering grabs a mic and says the first chapter began with an arrival. The next chapter will involve pain and that's all we need to know.
Backstage, William Regal says he will not bend to Samoa Joe's wishes. As for the Tag Team Classic and the teams involved... Blake & Murphy come in wanting to be apart of it, but end up arguing. Regal kicks them out of the office.
Liv Morgan makes her way to the ring. NXT Women's Champion Asuka enters next.
Liv Morgan vs. Asuka
Lock up, Asuka takes Liv to the corner before splitting. Liv shoves Asuka back and they lock back up. Morgan hits a dropkick, but Asuka remains on her feet. Asuka takes a few punches and shoves Liv down. Asuka traps Liv in an arm submission that quickly makes her tap.
Winner: Asuka - by submission (0:54)
Asuka is asked who the next victim is on her list. She simply responds by saying nobody is ready for Asuka.
Next week - Andrade "Cien" Almas & Cedric Alexander team up to face The Revival in a first-round Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic match.
Lince Dorado makes his way out for the main event. Hideo Itami enters.

They lock up and do some chain moves. Dorado sends Itami flying with a head scissors take down. They run all over the ring, dodging moves quickly. Itami kicks Dorado a few times. Lince nails a big kick to the jaw. Dorado kicks Itami in the neck from the apron. Lince jumps back in the ring, but eats a kick to the face. Itami runs over Dorado with a knee. Itami takes Dorado to the corner, whips him across. Itami goes up top, but Dorado dropkicks him out of the ring. Dorado dropkicks him through the ropes. Dorado does a moonsault off the second rope.
Dorado has Itami trapped in a left arm lock on the mat. Dorado manages to hit a spinning heel kick to the head, cover. Itami nails a flying clothesline. Itami comes back with kicks to the chest and strikes. Dorado flips Itami over into a cover, nearfall. Dorado escapes Hideo's shoulders and rolls him up a couple more times. Dorado does a shooting star press, but Itami moves. Itami boots and kicks Dorado, follows it with the corner dropkick. Itami connects with the GTS for the win.
Winner: Hideo Itami - by pinfall (7:40)
As Itami celebrates, Austin Aries hits the ring and attacks. Itami tries fighting back, but Aries escapes the ring and poses on the stage before leaving.
