The show opens with a video package featuring scenes from Toronto and images of Canadian superstars. It's time for NXT to take over Toronto!

Tom Phillips welcomes us to the show. Corey Graves is also on commentary.

A choir is on the stage singing the beginning of Bobby Roode's theme song. Roode enters to big pop from his home country. Phillips & Graves run down the card real quick. Tye Dillinger makes his way out to yet another big pop from his home country.

Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger

"This is awesome" chants break out after the bell is rung. Roode circles the ring as Tye stands still. Roode does his Glorious pose, prompting Tye to throw punches. Roode runs through him with a shoulderblock, but Tye comes back with a clothesline over the ropes. Tye tosses him back in only to clothesline him out on the other side. Tye chops Roode several times outside the ring. Roode fires back with punches of his own. Tye does a back body drop after whipping Bobby into the barricade.

Roode holds up a ten in the ring, but Tye stomps on his fingers. Tye chops the chest and they go to the corner for 10 successful punches. Roode sends Tye out of the ring. Roode runs Dillinger over from behind. Roode drops Tye on the barricade before rolling back in. Roode tosses Tye onto the apron for an elbow. Roode slams Dillinger against the apron one more time. Roode presses his boot against Tye's face in a corner. Tye gets whipped across the ring for a corner clothesline.

Roode goes up top and does a Glorious pose before leaping to strike Dillinger's neck. They trade chops until Roode nails a neckbreaker. Bobby goes for a cover. Roode does a knee drop. Roode continues the attack in the corner with punches to the head. Tye chops Roode and flies off the ropes with clotheslines. Big knee and a clothesline follow. Tye stomps on Bobby in the corner. The knee pad comes down but Roode ducks out. Tye follows him up the ramp and chops the chest.

Back in the ring, Roode catches Dillinger with a spinebuster, nearfall. Roode takes Dillinger up top for a big superplex. Roode rolls into the cover, two. Roode takes his knee pad down and does a ten chant. Roode rolls Tye up with his feet on the rope, but the ref catches him. Tye rolls Bobby up while arguing with the ref, two. Tye nails a super kick and covers again. This crowd is on fire as the two men lay in the ring.

They get up and trade several punches. Tye lifts Roode up but Bobby attempts the DDT. Tye rolls out and locks Roode in the Sharpshooter. Roode reaches the bottom rope. Roode rolls Tye up, two. Roode sends Dillinger into the ring post shoulder-first. Roode nails the DDT for the win.

Winner: Bobby Roode - by pinfall (16:28)

Roode leaves as Tye remains in the ring for a standing ovation from the Canadian crowd. Could he be getting


Asuka is shown warming up backstage. Up next, is the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals match. We see a video package on this year's tournament and how the finalists made it to tonight.

Akam and Rezar make their way out first with Paul Ellering accompanying them. A cage hangs 13 feet above the ring for Paul. Nick Miller and Shane Thorne enter next. The cage is lowered and then raised with Ellering in it.

Tag Team Classic Finals: The Authors of Pain vs. TM61

Akam takes Miller to the corner right off the bat. Nick tries fighting back with forearms to the head. Thorne comes in and they both take out Akam and Rezar. Miller flies out onto Akam, while Rezar takes Thorne up the platform that holds Ellering. Thorne is all alone now and front flips onto AoP! Rezar takes Thorne out on the apron. Rezar covers him in the the ring. Akam does a big stomp on Thorne from the second rope. Akam covers as Ellering continues to yell from above. Akam applies a headlock on the mat. Akam grabs Shane and tosses him across the ring, cover.

Rezar gets the tag and takes Miller off the apron. Thorne dropkicks him to make the tag. Miller attacks with forearms and even body slams Akam. Akam gets suplexed, then Rezar. Miller does a flying forearm to both AoP. Miller heads up top and nails a moonsault on Rezar, cover for two. Thorne and Miller double punch in the corners and then flip Akam and Rezar into each other. TM61 drops Rezar with Thunder Valley. Akam breaks the cover. Miller leaps out onto Akam. Thorne jumps onto them.

Ellering drops a chain from above. Rezar wraps the chain around his fists, but it goes flying into the crowd as Thorne rolls him up. Miller is knocked off the apron as The Authors of Pain nail The Last Chapter on Thorne for the win.

Winners: The Authors of Pain - by pinfall (8:19)

Ellering is lowered. Triple H, Goldust, and William Regal award The Authors of Pain the Dusty Cup.

A video package airs on #DIY vs. The Revival.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa make their way out first. Dash and Dawson enter next.

2/3 Falls NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Revival (c) vs. #DIY

Gargano and Dawson start the match with a lock up. Dawson gets rolled up, two. The two lock up again. Dawson runs through Gargano but Johnny runs the ropes and tags Ciampa. DIY dropkicks Dash and Dawson. Ciampa covers Dawson. Dash gets the tag and works Ciampa with punches. Dawson slams Dash with a leg drop onto Ciampa, cover. Dash gets shoved into the turnbuckle chest-first. Gargano and Dawson are legal again. Johnny does an over head belly to belly on Dash. Gargano nails a neckbreaker on Dawson, cover.

Gargano works both of them in the heel corner. Gargano leaps into a spear, but Dawson tosses him up for Shatter Machine.

1st Fall - The Revival - by pinfall (5:09)

Dawson chops Gargano in the ropes. Dawson covers for a two. The Revival double teams Gargano with loads of punches as Dash comes back in. Dawson is legal again and tries covering Johnny. Dawson wraps Gargano up by stretching him across his back. Johnny gets out and takes a shot at Dash. Gargano kicks Dawson and nails Dash with a spinning DDT in the process. Dawson slips under the ring but Gargano catches him. Ciampa is tagged but the ref didn't see it. The Revival hits Gargano with Hart Attack, but Gargano kicks out.

Gargano manages a crossbody off the top on Dash. Dawson gets the tag and so does Ciampa. Ciampa nails a dropkick from the top. Running knee in the corner and running shoulder blocks take Dawson down. Ciampa connects with a reverse Rough Ryder, cover. Dash gets kneed out of the ring. Ciampa hits Dawson with Three Amigos before connecting with the running knee to the head. Nearfall! Dawson uppercuts Ciampa and drags Gargano into the ring. Ciampa shoves Dash out of the ring and nails Dawson with a crossbody, nearfall. DIY connect with the double kick to the head for their first fall!

2nd Fall - #DIY - by pinfall (8:28)

Ciampa and Dash trade blows. Dawson tags in as Ciampa is turned around. Ciampa gets Dawson trapped in an arm lock. Dawson rolls Ciampa up, no luck. Dawson is face planted. Gargano is legal and nails Dawson with a DDT, nearfall. Dash is legal as Gargano battles both of them. Gargano is suplexed but Ciampa breaks up the pin. Dawson is legal again as Gargano recovers. Johnny tries punching both Dash and Dawson. Gargano rolls up Dawson for a close one. Ciampa takes Dash out of the ring. Dawson grabs a title, setting up Gargano kicking it. Dawson applies the inverted figure four.

Gargano reaches the bottom rope. Dawson is bleeding above one of his eyes. Dash is legal and kicks Dawson in the head. DIY connects with Shatter Machine but Dawson breaks the cover! Dawson rolls Gargano up with tights and is caught. Ciampa is sent into the ring post. Dash slips in and takes out both knees of Johnny. Gargano and Dash trade several covers. Gargano and Ciampa apply double submissions and The Revival taps!

Winners & NEW NXT Tag Team Champions: #DIY - by submission (22:16)

Gargano and Ciampa celebrate in the ring and with the crowd as The Revival retreats to the back.


WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is shown sitting ringside.

We see a video package on Asuka's dominance and the return of Mickie James.

Mick James enters first as she makes her return to a WWE ring after six years. Champion Asuka makes her way out. Mike Rome does formal introductions.

NXT Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Mickie James

They lock up. Asuka backs Mickie into a corner. They roll to the mat with Asuka's shoulders going down, then Mickie's. They're still locked up and then shove off. Mickie shakes her hand and pulls her in closer. They circle the ring and lock up again. James applies a headlock. Asuka tries for a shoulderblock, James stands tall. Asuka begins to work the left arm. James nails a sliding dropkick, prompting Asuka to roll out. James welcomes Asuka back in the ring. Asuka steps in and they lock up again. Mickie is trapped in a hammer lock as Asuka rolls out the ring with it in. Mickie does a quick arm bar but trapped in a head-scissors. They trade kicks. Asuka nails a hip attack.

Now Asuka sits on the ropes, welcoming Mickie back in. James eats another hip attack, sending her to the floor. Asuka misses as James dodges. Mickie flips Asuka over with her legs outside. Asuka grabs the left ankle and connects with a German suplex. The ref stops counting to check on James. Asuka gets in the ring as Mickie slips back in at 7. Asuka tosses James across the ring. Asuka dropkicks James in the stomach, cover. Asuka gets caught up in the ropes as James dodges. Asuka begins a series of kicks to the chest. James catches a foot and applies a single leg crab.

James turns it into a Muta lock. Asuka reaches the bottom rope. They trade slaps in the middle of the ring. James connects with a neckbreaker and clotheslines. Asuka leaps out of the corner but splashes on the mat. James nails a flap jack. Mickie goes up top and hits the seated senton for a nearfall. Asuka tries for an arm bar, but Mickie's foot was under the rope. James lands a huge Mick Kick on Asuka. James covers, but Asuka puts her foot on the rope.

Asuka breaks out of the DDT but gets covered in the process of attempting a submission. Asuka applies the crossface chicken wing, prompting James to tap quickly.

Winner: Asuka - by submission (13:05)

James offers a handshake, but Asuka raises her title in her face before exiting the ring.


Phillips & Graves briefly talk as Pat Patterson is shown in the crowd.

We see a video package on the heated rivalry surrounding the NXT Championship.

Samoa Joe enters first. Shinsuke Nakamura makes his way out last with several violinists performing. What an amazing theme song. Mike Rome does the formal spotlight introductions.

NXT Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Nakamura doesn't wast any time with kicks and strikes. Joe lands a kick to the thigh. Joe takes Nakamura to the ropes. They switch and Joe is held in the ropes. Nak hits a knee drop to the nose. Good Vibrations from Nak sends Joe recollecting outside the ring. Joe fires back with a chop. Nakamura kicks Joe into the crowd. They continue brawling until Joe is sent back over the barricade.

Back in the ring, Joe lands a corner enziguri. Joe scraps is boot across the champ's face. Nak gets up with a knee to the gut. Joe catches Nak and plants him out of the corner. Joe kicks Nak and nails an elbow drop, cover. Joe does a unique knee-driver into the mat. Joe uses his agility to trap Nakamura in a knee bar. Joe traps Nakamura's knee again. Joe side steps the champ at the ropes and then leaps out onto Shinsuke.

Back in the ring, Joe covers for a two. Nakamura gets some space and hits a dropkick. Nakamura kicks Joe across the chest and then the head. Joe is lifted to the top rope for the running knee. Joe resists being lifted again and manages to powerslam Nakamura. Atomic drop, big boot and senton from Joe, cover. Joe coves again and turns it into a Boston Crab. He turns it into a crossface. Joe nails another powerslam for a nearfall. Nakamura goes up top and connects with a knee to the chin.

They trade several punches and strikes. Joe falls to his back. Nakamura manages to hit a German. Joe wipes out Nak's knees. Joe sends Nak up top for the Muscle Buster, but Nak slips through and connects with Kinshasa - Joe kicks out! Joe catches Nak with the Clutch. Nak starts to fade but gets to his feet, backing Joe to the corner. Joe nails a German and then a dragon suplex. Nakamura manages to kickout of the straight jacket suplex. Joe is bleeding from his left eye.

Nakamura dodges a clothesline and knees Joe in the back of the head. Outside, Joe low blows Nakamura but the ref doesn't see it. Nak is planted on the steel steps. Back in the ring, Joe connects with the Muscle Buster for the win!

Winner & NEW NXT Champion: Samoa Joe - by pinfall (20:11)

Everyone is shocked as Joe rises to his feet as the first-ever 2-time NXT Champion. Replays air before Joe stands above Nakamura to end the show.
