Roman Reigns kicked off the show with a promo with the crash cage in the ring. He talked about his WWE Universal Championship match at the pay-per-view on Sunday against Kevin Owens. KO and WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho came out. Owens said Reigns power bombed his way thought WWE but only one man can say he put Reigns through a table - Owens. Jericho took his turn and it looks like he’ll give Reigns a rematch for the title tonight.

1) Luke Gallows w/Karl Anderson beat Cesaro w/Sheamus in 8:45. There was interference from the tag team partners. The finish saw Cesaro with the Sharpshooter locked in on Gallows but the referee was distracted when he tapped. Gallows ended up hitting a boot and getting the pinfall victory. Gallows sustained a cut below his eye and a cut inside his mouth.

Backstage, Mick Foley was shown on the phone with Stephanie McMahon. Foley explained he agreed to the US title match because they needed a marquee match. Sami Zayn walked in and said he needed to talk to Foley. Zayn wanted in the Rumble match but Stephanie told him he would have to beat Seth Rollins. Foley took the phone off speaker and said he didn’t agree with the decision but would let Rollins know.

They cut back to the broadcasters, who pointed out that Roman Reigns could be a double champion by this time next week.

Up next was Corey Graves’s sit-down interview with Bayley. Bailey described her WWE experience this far as “wow” and it gives her goosebumps. She doesn’t have Charlotte Flair’s DNA or bloodline but she has two wins over her. She vows to walk out of Royal Rumble the WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

Backstage, Mick Foley ran into Seth Rollins and relayed Stephanie McMahon’s message about his match tonight against Sami Zayn. Rollins questioned the decision but Foley said Stephanie wanted friend vs. friend. Mick explained to Seth that Stephanie said if Zayn won he wouldn’t just get a spot in the Rumble he would get Rollins’s spot in the Rumble. Rollins stated he would beat Zayn, win the Royal Rumble and main event Wrestlemania.

2) Sami Zayn beat Seth Rollins in 16:05 to earn a spot in the Royal Rumble match. Triple H’s music played towards the end of the match and Rollins didn’t go for the cover. Zayn used the distraction to his advantage, rolling Rollins up for the win.

Rollins was furious and stormed backstage.

Confirmed: Shawn Michaels will appear on the Royal Rumble Kickoff show. Later tonight: Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE United States Championship plus an appearance by Goldberg.

Backstage, Seth Rollins searched frantically for Triple H. Mick Foley ran into Rollins and said he wasn't saying it was Stephanie but she or someone in production did it.

3) Mustafa Ali, TJ Perkins and Jack Gallagher beat Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese and Drew Gulak in 4:00.

The New Day came out and clowned around. Enzo Amore and Big Cass followed, as The New Day danced to their entrance music. Big Cass said he was officially entering the Royal Rumble match. Rusev came out with Lana and Jinder Mahal. Rusev announced himself as a Rumble participant. Titus O’Neil came out.

4) Braun Strowman, Titus O’Neil, Jinder Mahal and Rusev beat New Day, Enzo Amore and Big Cass in 4:35. After the match, Big Show came out in a red, white and blue singlet. Braun Strowman sized him up. and said ‘on my time.’

On announce: They hyped Shawn Michaels and Jerry Lawler on the Royal Rumble Kickoff. Big Show came over with The New Day. Coming up next, Jericho vs. Rollins.

5) WWE United States Champion Roman Reigns beat Chris Jericho by DQ in 9:30. The match was thrown out when Kevin Owens came out and attacked Roman Reigns, thus giving him the victory by disqualification.

After the match, KO called for the shark cage to be lowered. Owens closed the door and attempted to lock it but Reigns pulled him in. Reigns ended up hitting KO with the Superman punch and Jericho with a spear.

Coming up: Goldberg will speak about the Royal Rumble match.

Up next was Charlotte’s interview with Corey Graves. One of her earlier memories is Ric Flair winning the 1992 Royal Rumble. Charlotte didn’t mean to humiliate Bayley but things changed when she believed she belonged in the same ring with her. Charlotte plans to punish Bayley on Sunday for thin king she was in her league.

6) Nia Jax defeated Ray Lyn in 0:30. After the match, Nia Jax said she should do a ’30 for 30’ on the downfall of Sasha Banks. Her music played and she limited out on a crutch. She hit Jax with one of them and attacked.

7) WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann pinned Noam Dar in a non-title match in 5:55. The finish saw Swann catch Dar with a kick and pin him for the three count. Afterwards, Swann called out Neville. nEville came out and they brawled.

Backstage, Cedric Alexander cut a promo about facing Neville. Alicia Fox and Noam Dar interrupted. Alexander ended up shoving Dar.

Goldberg's music hit for the closing segment. Goldberg talked about wanting a chance the challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 33. He knows that opportunity comes through the Royal Rumble match. His forehead was noticeably bloody as he said he would stop at nothing to get to the championship. Even if it meant he has to spear and jackhammer 29 others, that's what he'll do. Paul Heyman interrupted.

Paul Heyman talked about the possibilities the Rumble match presents such as Goldberg vs. Randy Orton or Goldberg vs. Braun Strowman or even Goldberg vs. Undertaker. Fans might see the scenarios of Goldberg against Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar's music hit and he came out. Heyman stated Lesnar will throw Goldberg over the top rope and eliminate him. Lesnar went for the ring. The gong hit and The Undertaker was in the ring with both men. He looked at both men as the show faded.
