WWE announced late on Monday night following this week's episode of Raw they had chosen to not renew the contract of Justin Roberts. As a result, he was released effective immediately.
The move was extremely surprising as Roberts had just finished working this week's WWE Raw taping in Atlanta, Georgia. He live Tweeted throughout the show as usual and posted a ringside photo with Evander Holyfield on Instagram. You can view it below:
Roberts worked for WWE for 12 years and became the company's Raw ring announcer on September 28, 2009 when Lilian Garcia left. He does have a business venture outside of wrestling, as he's the founder of Hands to Go, a portable massage system.
So far, Roberts has not commented on his release.
