For those that missed it on this week's episode of WWE Main Event, it was stated that Ryback is out a few weeks with an injury. The injury was intertwined in storyline as Adam Rose mentioned it in a backstage segment with Curtis Axel. Rose went on to beat Axel via pinfall on this week's show. You can read our results at this link.
The back story to this is Ryback's Twitter activity on Monday night. In typical Ryback fashion, who is known for bizarre behavior on social media, he Tweeted the following:
Going away for a while to get some stuff fixed. Have not been myself for quite some time. Ps sorry punk…
The Tweet was later removed.
Whether or not Ryback's injury is legitimate or there are other issues, I do not know. Ryback has been frustrated with his spot in WWE because he feels he's capable of a run as a top guy. When he was getting his trial run at the top in 2012, he stated in media interviews that he wanted to challenge John Cena as the face of WWE. He wasn't joking in these comments and really felt if given the opportunity, he could indeed challenge as the company's top guy. Ryback is known for being more or less a loner and doesn't frequently fraternize with his co-workers.
Ryback was well-received last week in Las Vegas, which is his hometown.
